defending champions finish 4th in their group, fail to score a goal on the entire tournament. i had heard rumours that they were done, but i didn't believe it until i saw it with my own eyes. shocking....
 
I know, unbelievable.

I called it in a bracket that I am doing, but that is just because I wanted them to lose. I didn't actually think they would.
 
equally shocking is Senegal advancing to the round of 16, and beating France in the process.

AND, France didn't score a single goal in all three games. Talk about a fall from grace...

Yup. And if Mexico beats Italy (very possible) and Croatia beats Ecuador (very possible), Italy doesn't advance.

Argentina is also in trouble.

Portugal might lose to Korea and not advance.

WTF is going on here :Q

France is a defensive team, not an offensive team. The scoring chances were virtually wiped out by the danish midfielders and when they get a chance, the ball hits the top of the bar or it gets saved by the goalkeeper (very nice job by him BTW)

I've yet to see Brazil getting raped like 4 years ago by France, just with a different country. Their defense just sucks and if you watched the china vs brazil game you'll be amazed how close china was scoring that goal and how much their defense suck.

Italy is still a good team, their victory is denied by some stupid a$$ refs. Croatia sucks anyway.

Argentina... who cares about them it's all about England advancing!

Portugal, they had their fun with Poland. I think Korea just needs to tie the game with Portugal and they advance with the US (if US ties against poland, which i doubt poland will have the skills to tie US)

Germany will most likely advance (pending on the match this morning), Ireland will advance if they win saudi arabia by a big margin and Germany beats Cameroon.

so, these teams are guaranteed to advance
Denmark, Senegel, Brazil, Spain.

Were the calls in the Italy vs. Croatia really that bad? I didn't get to watch it. Maybe later in July when they replay every match.

I felt very sorry for France. Damn.. they missed so many good chances. Denmark GK and defense did an excellent job.
 
Italy vs Croatia. I think i saw the bad reffing in that game. Was it the one with the inept side judge that kept calling non-existent offsides calls?

no one likes the french team. They won the World cup and the Euro cup. And most if not all English people hate the French football team! But they do have some great players and they definately should have done better.......lol...

In the Italy v. Croatia game, it was the same linesman that waved off two goals. One for an offsides and the other for a shirt pull. The offsides was questionable, but possible (note: the first player, not the second who was behind the ball). The shirt pull was like WTF?!?!?! But both should have been allowed.

I doubt that ref will be working any more games in this World Cup.

Yes. France is the first team ever to win the prior World Cup and fail to score a goal in the current World Cup. They are also the first team since Brazil in 1966 to fail to advance to the second round after winning the prior World Cup, and I think the third to do so overall.
 
Wow - that game was on at 230am here & I fell asleep at half time.

Denmark is a solid squad, but they were letting France play at their end alot & they had some good chances, so I thought they might get back in it. Too bad Zidane was hurt - even gimpy he's awesome.
 
France goes home!

Next up: Italy, Portugal and Argentina?

It's amazing how many front runners can get eliminated in the next 4 days!

Well somehow i guess i do...for the soccer fans, they are just jealous that France was winning everything until now...hey...we had to loose one day...
