I play a lot of fps games, Battlefield 2, Call of Duty 4 and etc, this is also evident in my xfire profile

Lately I been thinking about how cool it would be to play a first person game that doesn't involve killing people.

Even WoW and Guild Wars are killing games.

What games do you know that are first person games that don't involve killings.

Were you drunk/high when you were thinking this? lol.

I cant think of any non killing games that are first person, except for maybe those old point n click games, but they're not really FPS or FP they're just... point n click i guess. Apparently you don't have to kill anyone in deus-ex, you can complete it peacefully somehow.

Wasn't drunk, just like to play non violent games for a change.

I still love FPS but sometimes I need a break and I don't like playing games in third person view or strategy games.

The goal of the thief series was to sneak through instead of killing guys. But, you could still kill the guys...and even when you weren't killing them, you were whacking them in the back of the skull with a sock full of pennies.

Postal 2, iirc, you can go through the entire game without hurting anyone. It is only as violent as you are;)

Portal is good. Many adventure/puzzle games are first person too (Riven was, didn't play the others, and I think Siberia was).

Edit: Morrowind too. You have to kill the main quest boss, but that's it (and you can just get him to fall off a cliff into lava). It's a role-playing game, so you can choose not to kill anyone - although people will sometimes attack you.

Oblivion has sorta the same thing going, but it's a bit more action-oriented.

The only games that dont have killing generally have no direct conflict at all.
Puzzle and some mystery games come to mind.

Back in the days of graphic adventures there was very little direct conflict and killing. Myst and some others like Leisure Suit Larry come to mind.

The only other things that come to mind are sports games and Simulators.
And I mean the full range of simulators like flying games and management games (like Sim City and such).
Also, in most space conquest games you can avoid looking death straight in the eye, even when you wipe out a planet with billions of people.

As for first person games, there really isnt much point in looking at things in 1st person unless you plan to be shooting or stabbing someone else.
Graphic adventures which rely heavily on exploration are normally in the 3rd person to make finding things easier.
As has already been pointed out, some titles like Deus Ex and Thief can be played without the protagonist killing things, but death will still surround you.

driving games are kind of first person if you view from inside the car.

I'm in stunned disbelief at the number of hours you've spent gaming. You must still be in school or you've got one of those jobs where you work 2-3 hours/day and game the rest of the time!

As for a non-violent FPS... I really dunno. You could try playing a game like Crysis without killing anyone. Just sneaking through villages and past any guards you see, only using weapons when it's required to continue advancing through the level...

I think a couple of games have paintball mods.

Play a game that has medics, and only heal people.

There are also flight simulators.

There are some mods for Stalker that remove the weapons and make all the monsters and baddies just go about their routines so you can just explore.

He averaged 2.7 hours per day for every day over the 3.75 years he's been registered.
My hat's off to his dedication.

Can't you get thru Deus Ex without killing anyone?
--i believe that Thief2 on the hardest difficulty has as part of the *objectives* to kill no one for each level

To expand on this, try Uru, Ages beyond Myst. A bit older but unlike the first Myst game, you have full freedom of movement.

... Trespasser? You won't get far but you might have fun considering how clumsily firearms are implemented.
