LOL! No problem. Freedom of speech as long as you agree with me of course. Typical.

Spidey and I agree on virtually nothing, but I can agree with him on this. What's the point of having a political forum if you're just going to put everyone who disagrees with your position on "Ignore"? If everyone follows this lead, we're going to have nothing but self-indulgent intellectual masturbation threads with every poster in the thread posting "me too!"s and toeing whatever party line they're inclined to parrot. What fun that will be. We can have an official liberal thread and an official conservative thread and everyone can go have their circle jerk in their corresponding thread with no worry about having to see opinions you don't agree with!

I haven't Blocked anyone yet, but what's the point of Political Discussion if certain people will just say anything, including admittedly Lying about things?

Some peoples Opinions are just not worth Reading/Listening too. They can Say/Type all they want, but no one is obligated to actually Read/Listen to their tripe.

Because spidey isn't serious. He's trying to be clever, and satirical. No one could possibly spew verbatim talking points like he does, and not be deliberately trying to get rise, and therefore attention for himself. If everyone ignores him, he'll go away. But I won't, heh heh. There's only room for one enfant terrible in this trailer.

You should see the other board I hang out on. Now THOSE guys are right wing. And I believe everything I post, I have zero reason or motivation to do otherwise.

Wow, are you accusing him of being Senator Robert Byrd, the man the Democrats call the "conscience of the Senate" and made third in line for the presidency? That's the only Klansman in the Senate, no?

Surely you can see the difference between blocking people simply because you disagree with them, and blocking morons like Spidey. I disagree with blackangst on nearly everything, but you don't see me blocking him. Why? Because he attempts to engage in rational discourse. Spidey never does this, and the more people who block him the more this forum will benefit.

He's not attempting to have a discussion, he's attempting to rant like a lunatic.

Spidey was doctrinaire and predictable during the Bush years, but I'm afraid the last presidential election pushed him over the edge. He's not as incoherent as Butterbuns or Nemesis, but he's approaching their level of irrationality.

I'm still not going to employ the "ignore" feature, though. If our irrational members maintain their incoherence, it's easy enough to skim over their posts with no offense taken. On the chance they return to reason (or resume their meds, as the case may be) I'll allow their posts to hold.

If we want facts, why the hell would we watch Fox News?

You should have changed the name to 'Faux News' that would have been hillarious!
Unlike you, I don't beat a meme to death.

Fox News' defenders in P&N are constantly deflecting criticism of their programming by insisting that the bulk of their programs are entertainment and commentary, not news reportage. Ergo the question: why would one go to an entertainment and commentary channel for facts?

Hannity thanked Stewart for watching and pointing out the error. He also appologized - it was not done on purpose. This is not an issue.

Isn't it interesting that Hannity didn't describe what the inaccuracy was during his apology? Although he stated that Fox had used footage from an earlier rally, he did NOT say why that was a problem: It gave the false impression that the Bachman's November anti-health-care-reform rally being discussed on air was MUCH larger than that it in fact actually was.

I Wonder why Hannity didn't inform his viewers of that. Another innocent error?
