Fox News sued for spreading misinformation to the public

It’s absolutely dishonest is to try to compare a disease that had virtually no impact on America, with a disease that has shattered American life as we know it.
It's also dishonest to claim Trump has done a good job. We can't compare until someone other than Trump does a worse job than he has. Hopefully that'll never happen.

I didn't make that claim.

Feel free to quote where I asserted that the WHO test kits were inaccurate. I mean, I don't know either way whether the WHO test kits are accurate or not. The reporting regarding inaccuracy were specifically about the Chinese test kits which is why I took the time to specifically state Chinese test kits.

I'll wait for you to quote that post of mine.

So when the poster you originally responded to was specifically talking about the WHO test, you were dishonestly talking about the Chinese tests?

Hmm...I wonder if there is a term for that type of fallacy?

***Edit: Abj13 beat me to it.

Lol — there were absolutely no political consequences during the Ebola outbreak, because it had almost zero affect on the American public.

As I said earlier, nothing to lose. Nothing at stake.
and if he did nothing it would have had zero effect on the American public?

Imagine all the political positives if Trump had

Invoked the DPA in Feb
Enacted a real travel ban to China in Jan

Curve would have been flatten.

I want to how smart you are and if you are having a good faith debate. Why didn't Trump take action against China early when word of this got out Dec-early Jan.? Let's see if you answer before someone else jumps in.

"Those kits." What were you responding to? My discussions about the WHO kits and your first paragraph about you baseless claim that there were shortages in the WHO testing kit. You responded with "Those kits." Feel free to apologize anytime. Thanks.

More strawman from you. I didn't claim there were shortages. I claimed that other countries needed them more than we did at the time which is true. If you keep stuffing words into my mouth, I'm going to get fat!

But for someone who claims to be so non-partisan on here, you certainly don't practice what you preach. Please point to me where the WHO had insufficient kits to meet the early US demand. As demonstrated by your willingness to not provide support for your assertions, there were many ways to mitigate infection, as demonstrated by Australia, Taiwan, and Japan. This implicates how the US leadership failed in protecting Americans from this viral infection.

You keep riding this dead horse as if I made the claim that WHO test kits were inaccurate.

I talked about both. It's pretty clear in my post that the first paragraph was about WHO test kits and the second paragraph was about the Chinese test kits. I took the time to clarify which in that post. 🙂

If there were no shortages then why the fuck would it matter who needed them more?

I think you need a bigger shovel because you can't dig a bigger hole for yourself fast enough.

If there weren't enough kits to go around, that would be a shortage. Lol, what a dumb argument.

(see the video headline)

I have not seen ONE caption like "Trump criticized over handling of coronavirus" on Fox.

Its the ultimate propaganda outlet. Probably worse than Russia Today.

Like I said, WHO had only a certain amount of kits available and other countries were screaming for them because they were in more dire need.

Seriously. You are worse than Trump staying you didn't say something when you clearly did.

You keep riding this dead horse as if I made the claim that WHO test kits were inaccurate.

Not only did you refer to the WHO testing kit as "those kits" and got caught, now you are trying to twist your own words and create an even stupider strawman. Nobody asked about unapproved-Chinese tests, that don't even use the fundamental technology recommended by the WHO as the guideline for COVID-19 testing. Where has the WHO or CDC approved those types of non-PCR tests as first-line diagnostic tests for COVID-19? Better yet, why are you purposely talking about a test that has absolute zero bearing on the discussion? Its pretty clear you conflated the testing, and assumed nobody would call you out on your BS. I'm sorry, but why should anyone take your word for anything when you are this intellectually dishonest?

No, no, you misunderstand him, he wasn't saying there would be a shortage if we took them, he is saying we would be complaining about the US hoarding them.

I'll ignore the fact that if there wasn't a shortage then hoarding wouldn't be an issue and instead highlight yet another straw man he used in saying we would be complaining about hoarding.

I'm thinking he doesn't know what a straw man is because he keeps on using them.

I am sure you know Ebola made it to the country, in Texas. But it doesn't spread nearly as easily as you have to physically touch an infected person's body fluids. Transmission is easily avoidable. And its symptoms were severe and quickly detected.

Covid-19? It can spread by merely talking. And it hides well for weeks and weeks before a person know he has it. People transmit by being six feet or less from each other.

So comparing the two is apples to zebras.

So no, Obama had it easy with Ebola. We all know that compared to Covid 19.

Medical dis-information at it's finest...did you attend Trump Medical University?

Seriously. You are worse than Trump staying you didn't say something when you clearly did.

First, it's not possible to have infinity number of tests, but that's not the same as claiming a shortage. Other countries needed those kits more than we did so we refused the offer. You can scream and project and strawman until you're blue in the face. Doesn't bother me any.

You're arguing against claims that I didn't make. I never claimed that the WHO test kits were inaccurate. It doesn't matter how many times you say it, it won't become true.

You're a special kind of troll, just like Trump, implies the alt-facts without actually saying them. You're not fooling anyone but yourself.

So there weren't enough tests available for everyone that needed one. I wish we had some sort of word for that, would save so much time.
