Fox news republicans wouldn't know a logical argument if it hit them in the face.

What, are you FNE's alt account?

FNE: I blame Obama for this!
Dank: This started well before Obama.
DS: Let's not play the blame game!

That's a Repuglican talking point known as "let's not dwell on the past"

Okay...let's dwell on the past...Bush sucked. Now that we got that cleared up...is it OK to criticize Obama for doing the same shit Bush did but only worse?

I agree President Obama has embraced many of GWB's policies to my dismay but to say he is going farther then Bush did is debatable.

Okay I read it. So are you willing to tell me to what logical fallacy you're referring?
Are you asking me for a specific straw man argument? How am I supposed to know what specific arguments the OP was talking about?

You were the one who asked me to identify which logical fallacy existed in the OP. I assumed you had one in mind.

EDIT: Wait, my mistake. You asked me identify what type of fallacy existed. I thought you wanted me to identify the fallacy itself. My fault.

Back then to my original question: What logical argument is the OP advancing that he (or she) thinks eludes us?

Where exactly did I blame Obama for starting it? He's the current President, its still going on under him, is he too stupid to realize its going on or so corrupt he doesn't care?

So go back and read what I said again, realizing that Bush is no longer in office, Obama has been in office for 3 years since 2001, and try to formulate a response that makes sense.

Ok let's go back:

So is Obama stupid or corrupt to allow this to happen?
How did Obama allow this to happen in 2001? What power does Obama have to stop it today?

Again, where did I say he allowed it to happen in 2001? You do realize he was elected in 2008 right? He IS currently the President of the United States.. the most powerful man in the world. Are you seriously telling me the man has no power to change this?

Maybe he could have used 10 seconds of his time with Jay Leno and said, "Hey, did you know we give 100's of millions to the Chinese? If you want to see that stopped call your congressman/senator/etc."

So again, if its STILL going on, is he too stupid to stop it or too corrupt?

I don't know what power he has, why don't you tell me?

That's it? That's his only option? To appeal to people to appeal to their congressmen? How well did that work on his jobs bill? Or his effort to allow bush tax cuts to expire on the top tax bracket? Or most of everything else he wanted to do?

Well if you are right then he should be voted out of office because he's the only moran in history unable to get Democrats to vote for higher spending.

So are you honestly suggesting that Obama is too busy to ask the question of why we are sending hundreds of millions of dollars to perhaps our greatest threat in the world? Perhaps he could use the time he would normally use to work on a budget?

Because he probably didn't even know that such aid existed. It's not like the POTUS micro manages the budget, or that he's omniscient.

Why didn't Dubya ask? Probably the same reason.

It's just grandstanding in a gotcha game, played out to satisfy the outrage addiction of the Faux viewers & their fellow travelers mentioned in the OP...

There are lots of twists & turns in the whole foreign aid thing. Sometimes it's an indirect subsidy to American companies- Uncle Sam gives money to country A to buy stuff from company Z... and now company Z has a customer dependent on them for parts & service, putting a lot more money back into this country than went out... hypothetical, of course.

That's a logical argument. Raving about one of our biggest trading partners being our greatest threat really isn't...

" hypothetical, of course. "
I love that part. From what I have read a lot of the money was spent on the Chinese infrastructure...

Well, if they bought piles of internet hardware & know-how from Cisco & other American companies, construction machinery from Caterpillar, so forth & so on, then it would be as I've offered, correct?

I'm just saying that sometimes these things are deeper than can be captured in grandstanding soundbites created to evoke emotional response rather than rational evaluation/ discussion of any kind. It's what the OP was talking about, too...

We really don't have to look very deep at all to understand the basis of appeal for much of what modern Repubs regard as legitimate issues. Terry Schiavo, Elian Ganzales, Death taxes, Death Panels and Mediscare rank right up there, along with Iraqi WMD's, their "reconstituted nuclear program" and "links" to Al Qaeda... This whole rant about aid to China is very much the same stuff... Pitches to raw emotion, with simulated rationality in support...

Posting in a troll thread.

Hmm, maybe I should create a thread titled "CNN democrats wouldn't know a logical argument if it hit them in the face." :D

It would be interesting if the right ever brought logic to a debate that isnt another taylor-made conservative wrapper of bull-puckey so you guys can keep goose-stepping without thinking.

LOL, impossible. CNN and MSNBC rarely even have arguements since 99% of thier debates are really just a liberal talk show with liberal guests to further elaborate. Fox may not be as fair and balanced as they would like you to believe, but atleast they have both sides on the issues.

Are you JOKING?!?!!? Every negative response to any Obama policy is met with "that's because you're racist"
