Fox News' ratings are growing.
the Republican party's ratings are shrinking.

clearly there's a disconnect in this theory.

Fox is conservative, the Republican Party isn't.

fox is about money, the reps just happen to be a bit more corrupt and "useful idiots" for the corporations, in the end this is their real agenda. America and healthy discourse be damned.

Owner is not even from here anyhow, wtf would he care, he is laughing his ass off at "conservatives" all the way to the bank.

Sigh, it is amazing to me that you guys seriously believe Fox is so biased, yet you think MSNBC and CNN are SO unbiased and impartial.

It's ridiculous you lump CNN in with MSNBC. It's also ridiculous that before Fox Bias was only an issue in Isolated cases. Fox brought 100% 24/7 Bias and with it, Fail. Cngrats.
You plainly see a significant distinction...please elaborate.

Yes, I do. That you don't is what is shocking.

MSNBC leans farther left than CNN. So? Both have shown left-leaning bias.
You know...I used to think that...but I'm not so sure anymore. That CNN fact check of the Obama SNL skit was way over the top and very telling.

I think it's sad that so many in here would be happy to see the government shut Fox News down. That doesn't bode well for the future.

But what idiots. I am sure their comments will only drive more viewership to FOX and hurt the already sagging ratings of the other members of the state-run-media.

While MSNBC has Pat Robertson as their token Republican commentator, he is still better than CNN's token nutjob, the birther Lou Dobbs

Remember, my dear friends, there are no national news media that are on the left. There is just right wing and extremely right wing. The left is socialistic and would never allow the air waves which belong to the people be allowed to be purchased so corporations can use to brainwash people into believing garbage and buying useless shit.

In a real world there would be art and education, language education, how to do and make things, job training, politics, real and objective news, psychology, self help, cooking for long life, exercise, and all manner of things that would go to make your life more meaningful instead of being put to sleep while being diddled. You are a product of cancer and you can't think in any other way than as a cancer thinks.

They operate on public property, the air waves we own. They should provide a public service other than rabble rousing. All TV should have a mandate to show political thinking across the spectrum where folk can debate political views and be thrown off the air if they malign the other side. We should see points of view from the far left to the far right presented without interruption and then with rational criticism. Fox is a propaganda machine designed to brainwash and create outrage. They are creating psychotic monsters, not wise voters. Fox is evil. Do you suffer evil to exist? Do you allow cancer to grow? They don't have to be shut down, but they have to be addressed. They need challenge and the law should be that all sides should have representation. A steady diet of swill turns one into a pig.

Last time I checked FNC, MSNBC, and CNN are all delivered over cable so your silly public airwaves theory does not apply unless you are stretching the definition to include satellite up and down links. If you want to use that definiton then pretty much any content we use be it internet, cable, or broadcast uses the public airwaves at some point which makes it all subject to government oversight. Do you seriously want to make that case?

I am not looking to shut down any news channel. I do think that the White House is right about Fox News.

I was wondering how Obama et al were going to deal with Fox News and the other surrogate GOP talking heads without going Nixonian. This is a good start.

Way to go Obama, demonize and alienate the right and hope that they are crushed... so that you can blacklist any one who listens or watches them, kill free speech and freedom to choose. Divide America so that you can secure the votes.
What's next, are they going to collect the data from cable and satellite companies about who all are watching Fox?

http://www.nydailynews.com/new..._news_is_gop_ally.html

That's OK, the WH has their own network -- CNN.

No shit. Isn't it pathetic when they try to claim the CNN is the democratic equal to Fox. Just goes to show how fucking stupid they are.

Do you want to make the case that media can't be used to poison the minds of people? Do you support the poisoning of minds? Do you know that your mind is already poisoned? Do you have a right to shout communist in a room full of dwarfs? What should be on the air 24 hours a day are the kinds of false reasoning and propaganda techniques people are manipulated with. 24 hours a day folk should be trained to recognize and reject false thinking and lies delivered by propaganda. But it won't happen because such folk will buy only what they need. The economy parasitized the brain dead and makes sure the next generation grows up stupider than the last.

I am not advocating that the channel be shut down. But I definitely would not go to Fox News for a balanced reporting of the news.
And...IMO...MSNBC and CNN are 100% pro-Obama...the bias reeks on both sides of the politcal spectrum. Isn't it interesting how some people become so used to the smell of shit in their own pants...and are so sensitive and offended by the smell of shit wafting from other people's pants? Equally interesting is that once one of the smarter ones realize that maybe there actually is a slight odor coming from their pants...they quickly point to the 'fact' that their shit don't stink nearly as bad as everyone else's (hmmm...I think Pavlov was onto something).

Anyway...you speak of regurgitation by the Right...do you not see the regurgitation from the Left. Let's be honest here.

Your opinion =/= reality. Just because a story is reported differently on the various networks does not mean they are '100% pro Obama'. I'm guessing to you anything that isn't 100% anti-Obama is this 'liberal media' you guys speak of. Fox constantly distorts and misleads their stories to fit their desired end result. Add to that talking heads like Beck and Hannity that insert their 'opinions' as proof of said analysis and you have a network that is the opposite of 'Fair and Balanced' as they claim.

Nice straw man.

I think most in here would be happy if Fox quit pushing their conservative agenda under the guise of a legitimate news organization.

That comment is fucking rich considering there's a link in this thread to GWB's press secretary admitting the WH gave Fox talking points.

So? Do you know what I do when I don't want to watch something? I turn the channel to something else. That is my point in this entire discussion. If you don't like it, watch something else. I don't agree with the likes of Hannity either, but I don't care if others watch him.

Oh, and about the bolded part -- be fair here. CNN is notorious for doing this as well, with the most ridiculous examples being their economy sob stories.
