I'm all for Mohammed depictions because they highlight religious extremism and the danger of fundamentalism.

What I don't understand is why the pic would target all Muslims. That makes no sense. It would be like if you created a similar image making some joke about priests molesting baby Jesus, but applying it to all Christians. It just wouldn't make sense and wouldn't be funny because it would be a non sequitur.

The idea of the photoshop is clearly funny, but they missed the ball. The only way the irony in this joke would be funny is if you actually do equate "Muslim" with "terrorist".

Would Jeff Dunham be funny if it was "Achmed the dead Muslim"? No, his jokes wouldn't make sense. He would also have zero Muslim fans.

I'm not sure what to think of your illustration except that it shows you don't really have a good sense of humor. The Perknose pic is funny because it makes fun of a silly belief and contains a surprise which is an important part of most humor. Yours doesn't and oddly brings in a racial angle that wasn't even present in the OP pic.

Infohawk, the only time I've heard the 72 virgin thing is in relation to terrorists who kill themselves for God. Clearly that's what the pic is referring to, hence the nuns with rifles. Obviously they aren't supposed to be shooting random Muslims in heaven.

Yet the caption says "Muslims". Are you claiming that it really is supposed to refer to all Muslims? Doesn't it seem more likely that the person who wrote the caption is an idiot who can't distinguish between Muslims and terrorists getting their 72 virgins?

The point of my pic apparently has gone over your head. The caption makes NO SENSE because instead of specifying that it's referring to a group, the KKK, it says "white people". It's not supposed to funny.

Terrorism is just a means to an end. There are various factions that use or have used terrorism, e.g., IRA, ETA, muslim extremists. Having been baptized and raised Catholic, I was under the impression I could have anything I desired in Heaven.

We're going in circles. You concede that the picture is referring to terrorists, but you are bent out of shape because the caption doesn't have a PC disclaimer. That is simply because you are an uptight stereotypical "liberal." I say that as someone who voted for Obama.

And as someone who finds all organized religions ridiculous, I still find the joke funny and appropriate even if it is meant to apply to all muslims. It's funny that superstitious believers (houri is party of the Islamic tradition, even if you aren't familiar with it) would get greeted by something they were not expecting.
