Have to say its like comparing a truck to a Ferrari, sure it cost a lot more but damn...! :D (HP with torque too...)

Now to say yes its damn expensive but I have 3-45acp pistols now and am saving for an FN57 to complement them and the other firearms I have... Remember ya buy a 6 pack of beer in Texas and ya get a free gun...:p (from Family Guy)

just don't forget that the 5.7 was designed to be an armor piercing round.....and a .45 was meant to shoot gigantic holes into a target you want dead. There is a huge difference in the application of each bullet. Besides, for the zombie apoc you want a gun that has ammo readily available. Idk about your neck of the woods, but every walmart i've ever been to stocks 9mm ammo. Haven't seen 5.7 anywhere aside from a gun show, and those were reloads.

Yep gotta agree there 9mm, 40S&W, 45acp are quite common as compared...
Also have to admit my S&W 4009 40 cal stainless is my fav... I just like the appeal of the FN57 and what it can do... Up close you can't beat a 40 S&W or 45 acp and a good hog leg like a 44mag or 357mag revolver are the most reliable...

Your quoting their AP round, which you can't buy, and at velocity that is probably from their submachine gun.

The only point to the 5.7×28 is that with armor piercing bullets it can defeat soft body armor. But you can't buy armor piercing bullets.

Have you considered a 9x25 Dillon? You get 9mm bullets at those speeds. Best take up reloading if you go that route.

May possibly be with a 10" barrel...? But note this... 28 gr (1.8 g) SS195LF JHP716 m/s (2,350 ft/s)467 J (344 ft·lbf) its a jacketed hollow point which is not AP but can bet it would expand and tear a new @zzhole... But yea you would have to stock pile brass and do your own reloading if you shot much... The Dillion is a nice shell but it too comes at a price... Any links to what shoots it like something cool...?

For a 9x25 Dillon pistol, you install a 9x25 barrel into a 10mm pistol. Like a Glock 20 or a 10mm 1911.

you can get steel 5.7 which is essentially "armor piercing" to some extent
