Personally, I can't stand the look of those Firechicken's, with the possible exception of the 2000+ WS6's..

However, that doesn't matter as long as you like it.

🙂

Has it got the LT1 or the LS1?

95 = LT1

i dont mind the looks, but the Trans Am cant be had for a decent price anywhere around me. and the WS6 is just crazy costly.

My brother might be selling his 93 T/A for alot cheaper than that Formula if you're willing to drive it from Florida 😉

It is in pretty good condition, he babies the thing, 200k miles and still running strong 🙂

Nevermind...if it's a '95, it's prolly a LT1...should be fine assuming it wasn't beat on.

The nose of those cars just turns me off...

the only way a Trans Am actually looks better is if it has the Ram Air hood.

I find that the spoiler makes it look alot better. The front end is also significantly revised, and there are ground effects.

Trans Am > Firebird

Agreed. Those style firebirds, with the nose and wing, are the worst looking F-Bodies IMO...but that's just me. I do know those LT1's are torque monsters...

I like the 93-02 Trans-Ams, I think the styling is awesome, and even though the LT1s were designed 12 years ago, it still looks great. The new ones are even sexier. On the other hand, even though its practically the same car, the Firebird/Formulas don't do it for me.

i just cant find a damn TA in my area for a reasonable cost.

and plus the formulas are supposed to be slightly faster due to less weight from the body kit and larger wing, although they do look sexier and i will admit that.

7k for a Trans Am with 102k on the clock? no deal. You can find a much nicer one, with less miles for that, if your willing to pay 7 for it. Hell I sold my 94 H/C/I Z28 with alot more than that done for 8 and it only had 76k on the clock. Keep looking, and dont buy the first car you find. Remember, check that dreaded OPTI-Spark!! thats a curse GM put on the LT1 that they will never live down.

ive seen NUMEROUS and looked at NUMEROUS cars already, 70K LS1 Z28 a4 coupe no T/tops, went without me seeing it because im at school (8 grand obo). every car ive seen is WAY more than you think. every car in my area with about 60K miles is asking 9grand + no matter what, why i dont know. thats what Edmunds lists them as, thats what they are on Autotrader for. its insane.

Of coarse its a auto and I think 93 had some special problems but its fairly close and cheap. 95 z28 $4500]
95 z28 $5k
95 z28 $5k
95 trans am $5300
A 6 speed and only 77k miles too
00 z28 for $7000
Probably a little farther then the others but for that price drive a little. None of them are that far anyway.
There were a bunch more but I got bored.

Call me nutty but them are some damn good prices and lower mileage as well for the one 🙂

I used to have a 96 Firebird.. man so many headaches. replaced the whole a/c system, water pump, fuel pump, clutch, blown hoses, belts, cant remember what all else.

junking that pos and getting this was an extremely wise decision

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about the "extra weight". On a car that already weighs 3400lbs, the extra 50lbs isn't going to make any bit of a difference.

Goodluck with your search!

I am close enough that I just did a 200 mile search around my own zip code and put up some of the ones closer to you.

If I were to sell my 95 T/A I would expect to get around $4000 for it. It just turned 125,000 miles. Runs like a champ.

79k? I'd say that car is maybe worth $5500. The add-ons it has are the basic bare-minimum that anyone does to a Camaro. Most people put a nicer exhaust on it since the stock exhaust always rusts out. And, for cloth seats, that guy is an idiot trying to ask $9900.

I own a modified 97 Z28 that I bought 2 years ago with 50k miles on it.. Mine is the anniversary edition. I paid like $9200.

I had to take it to the shop 4 times now (about $3k).. Don't expect it to be the most reliable car after it's been modified.

you have an LT1, i have an LS1. decent difference in the engine itself.

MIKE

LT1 is a more reliable engine at higher mileage. Anything >50k on a Camaro is high mileage. LT1 is steel; LS1 is aluminum.

Anyway.. here's some more reasons my car is better:

-Borla catback stainless steel exhaust system
-K/N cold air filter (probby same as yours)
-CSI electric water pump
-Eibach suspension (lowered 1.75")
-17" rims.. forget the brand.. but they're nice
-leather seats
-aftermarket stereo system.. 10" sub, 2 amps, 4 speakers, Sony mp3 cd player
-a few other modifications.. don't feel like going out to my car atm to look

oh ya.. I bought the car 2 years ago.

Dude, be a little patient. That car isn't that great and it's certainly not a deal by any means. You could probby pick up a 98 Trans Am for $7k.

I'd disagree that the LT1 is more reliable. I've seen ABUSED LS1's hold up to boost levels that would destroy an LT1, plus the LT1 has the horrible optispark.

nothing near me is a Z28 going for under 9 grand anymore this is gay. i know the cars are worth like 8 grand max right now. and it really should be a buyers market, but the sellers are all pulling the no longer made, will be a classic etc.

MIKE

That car will never be a classic.

The rear ends on them are known for blowing apart if you ever get perfect traction on a launch. I know because I have done it many many times. IF you buy one, spend $2200 immediately for an aftermarket 12 bolt or ford 9".

It's more lack of traction that breaks the rear over "perfect" traction. Wheelhop destroys more 10 bolts than traction does.

I would say it's more the summer that makes the prices go up. Everyone wants to go race and cruise. Wait till the winter, you'll get a steal on one.

i say the Trans AM WS6's and the Camaro SS's will become classics, specifically the 35th anniversary camaro, limited production of both vehicles, and the fact that currently they are no longer produced. they will be.

none of the japanese cars will ever be classics.

and Gillbot, any idea if the car you PM'd me is a M6 or not
