Maybe we need a rule about software threads. I'm guilty of posting "not a hot deal" theads too, but they weren't about free software, in which the "normal price" is always free. Plus, isn't there a sticky thread in software just for this?
I know that the Hot Deals forum can be occasionally slow at times, in terms of new deals, but I'm starting to lean in the direction of thinking announcements about normally-free software being free as being slightly off-topic here too.
Then again, I almost never check the software forum, and I did find that free lego-building software to be kind of neat that was posted in here earlier. So I don't know what the best solution is. Maybe we need a "Hot Deals - Software" sub-forum or something?
Edit: The site does look fairly legit, looks kind of like a portfolio of "amateur night at the games industry"-type games. But I have to ask the OP, you mentioned "elf bowling" as one of the games that you recommend - wasn't that one of the things that was going around in e-mail a few years back, that had some sort of trojan or virus attached to it? It's posible that the virus-spreading version was "stolen" from a freeware site like this and modified and passed around, but it still makes me nervous.
