found a kitty, need help

Uh, I don't want a free kitty. I'd rather pay for one that I know I will be getting a healthy, care for and the breed and color I want (I want a Bengal/Toyger type with nice wild stripes).

Kitties born domestically and being around humans from birth tend to behave differently throughout their lives than rescue kitties and strays.

I think that finding your own kitty can be more rewarding.

Well, you have to be a little proactive, I don't think you can expect a kitty to just fall into your lap. But I think, certainly, if you want a wild one you'll have to do some legwork.

But don't you think you have a better chance of establishing a lasting relationship if you find each other than if you just pick one that looks nice, pay the price, and before you know it it's over? Then you have to get shots etc.

This, a cat's personality is largely determined in how it spends its early life. Get a barn cat, they're usually pretty good.
 
I remember back in the 1980's one of my parts cars had a cat in it. One day a friend and I went to see why the cat like this car and it took off running. Something made me grab a key an open the trunk and when I did eight (8) little kittens were looking up at the bright light meowing back at me.

Parts cars are not places where kitties are to be given brith. Take note you horny cats! 😀

Wow, don't know what to say about this. I've dreamed of having 2 kitties at the same time, but never 5. I don't know if I could handle that.

Wow, those Toygers are pretty awesome. I try not to think about these things, because I'm trying to avoid getting a second cat and becoming a cat person.

Ugh, 5 is too many. There's a magic number for when there's too many cats. For my wife and I, it was 5 (probably less for most people).

We rescued a fifth cat (a marble bengal), who was too aggressive/dominant over our 3 regular domestic cats, especially the male (our other Bengal male was happy to play rough). With the domestic male, stress caused UTIs, which caused pee and behavior problems. We found a good home for the marble, and are having to have the carpet and pad replaced, and subfloor cleaned and sealed on our basement stair landing from the pee. :\

edit: Honestly, 4 is still too many. I think the sweet spot for our house is 3, and we won't be replacing our oldest female when she passes.

Holy hell, that right there is top shelf. Although I have heard of some individuals paying much more... I don't know if I could ever justify spending that.
