Holy hell, that right there is top shelf. Although I have heard of some individuals paying much more... I don't know if I could ever justify spending that.

If they live to 20 years, that's 1000/20 = $50 a year.

I can't believe I'm even spending more than two minutes looking at a cat that costs $1000. Someone help me.

My kitty does need a friend, though...

Also consider Bengal cats. They're awesome (and also super expensive).

20 years? That is optimistic for a cat. Then add food/vet costs.

Ignore food/vet costs since we're just talking about purchase price (even free cats will need food/vet costs).

So $1k is not much. At least they don't depreciate like cars. :D

I don't disagree. I'm just pointing out that as the kitty evolves from a fresh exiting wild animal into an "old friend", at some point you'll need to get a new kitty to fill that roll, so you can't really amortize over 20 years.

I'm not going to lie, I think $1000 is worth it for a cat that badass looking. Their personalities sound pretty awesome, too. I'm definitely not going to be adding any more kittens for at least a year, though.

And yes, where's the update OP?

The OPs join date and post count place him into somewhat of a lurker status, I don't imagine hearing from him about this again. :p

I checked his profile and he hasn't posted anything since this thread. He seems to post about once a month, though he went from February to June without posting antying, so it could be a while. I'll put a tickler on my outlook and make sure to harass him about it in the next thread he posts in. :D

There's no indication that he even reads the threads he starts. Just send him a PM and hope he sees it next month. :p

Wow, those Toygers are pretty awesome. I try not to think about these things, because I'm trying to avoid getting a second cat and becoming a cat person.

we have one in the neighborhood that I encounter maybe once a week walking to and from work. The little thing is completely schizophrenic. it has a weird gait, too.

cool looking kitty, though.
