I'd imagine most people would walk away if the person you're dealing with is carrying a gun and is not a law enforcement officer. It's just bad news no matter how you look at it. Better safe than sorry. IMHO.

Guns are pretty worthless for anything except for shooting bullets. So I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this is what it's used for.

Yes, the crime rate is lower in Japan. However, I'm not sure that I want to live in any country with a suicide rate that is as out of control as Japan's. It's well over double the US suicide rate. In fact, the only countries with higher suicide rates are either 3rd world nations or former eastern bloc countries.

Don't forget that historically the Japanese considered suicide to be an honorary ritual. Even to this day, many consider suicide as a way of apology and prefer that than live shamelessly. Also you may not know but many Japanese employees write resignation letters before they start their new job. You don't have to live there of course.
