OK, for you I recommend getting any or all of the Forza Horizons 2 thru 4. Especially if you can find them marked down. The discs versions on Amazon can sometimes be cheap.
They are really fun, casual, the physics are friendly.

Forza Motorsports has the more unforgiving physics.

Still November 5:

If nothing changes. I bet they even allow a pre-load. But again, I think I can wait for a sale. This is quite unessential to me.

I believe that they're allowing a pre-load now. XBox Game Pass and Standard Edition users can't play the game until November 9th, though.

I'm curious which platform it will look better on: My gaming PC (Ryzen 7 3700X and GeForce 2060 Super on a 1440p monitor), or my gaming console (XBox Series S) on a 65" 4K TV. The gaming PC has more horsepower, but these titles always seem to be console optimized.

As usual, the installation experience on the PC sucked. I needed to uninstall and reinstall the XBox app before it even installed, and then had to update my video drivers before the game would load.

The XBox Series S install went much smoother, but even that didn't totally work right. I have XBox Game Pass for PC, which my XBox didn't seem to recognize. I had to trigger a remote install from my PC to the XBox to get it working.

The game seems to play better on it than it does on my PC. The graphics are similar, the surround sound effects on my home theater system make it a more immersive experience.

Huh, I thought that was not supposed to work. Gamepass for PC should only give you access to PC titles, wonder if this is a loophole for playanywhere titles...

Just for haha's, I installed the game on my OG XBox One just to see how it would play. It looks pretty good, but you can tell that it's rendering in a lower resolution (probably 720p) and upscaling to 1080p. As expected, it doesn't look any better than Forza Horizon 4 did on this console.

It's the game load times that are the killer... having to wait 90 seconds to start a race sucks after getting used to 5 second load times from a console or PC with an SSD.

Been playing on PC and have enjoyed it more than I expected. I'm not normally a racing fan, but it's holding my attention better than most racing games do. Probably don't have the time/patience to unlock a whole bunch of stuff, but I may still get 20-30 hours out of it. Pretty good for me these days

Most of the fun is derived from collecting and painting new cars. If you just wanna beat the main campaign then yeah, all the Forza games are pretty short. I bought FM7 on sale last month and it didnt really take me long to charge ahead and get to the end. Like probably 3 days of hard work. Now its just doing extra stuff, and collecting vehicles. The vast majority of which I will never drive.

This game got IGN's 2021 game of the year award. Well done, Playground Games!

One cool feature that I noticed today... while Forza Horizon 5 isn't a two player split-game (and it really should be!) it will let two XBox controllers be connected at the same time to control one car. I found that this comes in really handy when you're trying to teach a little kid how to play the game! It's like Drivers Ed for racing games :)

This is a general feature of Xbox (called copilot), can be used in any game. Is there special support in Forza for this?
