Thats a stupid bug, wow! That sucks for now no doubt.

I got 60K too, must just be a flat reward for playing FM3 I guess.

Still finding the AI in this one pretty easy. Just using stock cars, as I don't want to upgrade anything until I max out my affinity. But with max difficulty(minus the manual clutch), this dynamic AI isn't particularily good. Kind of what I was scared of with Forza 4, more of the same time trials racing where the rest of the pack is in my dust. Hate to see what happens if I upgrade the cars. Guess its time to get online with you guys!

The F through B class races are pretty easy. Things get slightly more difficult with A and even moreso with S and above.

So I put in all my fancy codes, and it doesn't even give me the cars it just gives me the option to buy them? Weak.

It also won't let me import my save file from Forza 3....Mega Weak...

so, what about importing my save?

It only imports a few things. There's specific cars that are given to you based on your driver level from Forza 3, and a few specific cars that if you had in your garage, you'll get imported to your garage in Forza 4. It doesn't import all your cars or credits by a long shot.

You can get the complete details here.

What happened when you started a new game? It should have asked you to import "driver level xx" or "new game"

are you Sure you are signed in with the same gamertag as your fm3 save?

Didn't get a chance to try the game yet, I was about to and my brother in law called in a panic because his new computer wasn't working, wasted 5 hours over there and didn't get it working...grrrr.

There's an initial race where you take the 458 Italia for one lap around the Bernese Alps with all assists on... After that race concludes you're given the option to import your old profile (assuming a FM3 savegame exists on the profile you're playing under). If you've gone through all that and nothing, then that's just weird.

Been playing for the last few hours, definitely enjoying it so far. It feels more accurate than FM3 in terms of portraying how cars actually handle. I've only really just brushed the surface in the career mode, so I'm still mainly doing E Class races, but I also took a couple laps in free play in a Dodge Charger; the difference in feel between the classic muscle car and a tiny hatchback is intense. You can feel your balls drop when that throaty roar bellows forth... and the Charger doesn't sound bad either.

The difficulty is a lot better this time around. I haven't lost a race yet, but it's actually felt like a race most of the time; some races I don't pull ahead until the final turn or so. In FM3, it was way too simple to upgrade a car and treat each race as though it were basically a Time Trial; you'd pass all your opponents off the line and then run through a few laps. Now it's much more competitive; keeps you on your toes and keeps it from becoming a "great, three more laps of boredom" sort of thing.

I hate the "random bonuses" option for certain races. Seriously, every single time I'll land on something huge and then it'll give me something tiny. On my second one I landed on "+4000 XP" and then it gave me 500...whaaaaa?

I got several cars gifted to me because of my FM3 save, and that worked fine. However, I got an in-game message telling me that I had to get my gifted credits from my FM3 save from my "online bank". I looked everywhere for an "online bank" with no luck. How do I get these credits added to my FM4 profile?

Please quote this message in your reply so I'll find it easier.

Go to "community" and you should find a message from turn ten there with the credits

That screwed me up too. In that message, if you look at the bottom, there is a prompt to push the A button to "download". By doing that, it gave me my credits. I think. There was a lot going on yesterday, much of it I've forgotten.

I'm waiting to pick it up used, will I be screwing myself out of anything by doing that?

Only that if you wish to race online lobbies or with our Anadtech group you will be very far behind everyone else in credits and car accumulation. And many of the cars you get with a 'new' version vs a 'used' version you will have to pay for.

Picked it up from Best Buy last night, installed both discs and spent WAY too much time playing with Autovista mode. 100% car porn right there.

The racing progression seems to be simplified from previous games but that's a good thing IMO. Kept me playing for 3 straight hours which is rare for me with any type of game. This one's definitely living up to the hype so far.

Actually, if you click "A" on that message telling you about the credits it gets them. That's what I did.

Played a good bit last night and this morning, I just started season 4. My impressions.

-No Porsche = FAIL! First time I spun through the car buying section and went from Pontiac to Radical I started singing this.
-I love the new career mode, something about only being committed to one event at a time I like a lot more. The announcer gets old after a while though.
-Autovista is pretty slick but I can't see myself spending much time on it.
-New Track Day and Autocross modes are surprisingly entertaining!
-Did I mention that having no Porsche sucks?
-I like that you get to choose what car you want when you level. Also like how they axed car levels and instead go for MFR levels, I don't feel trapped to certain cars to get the bonuses.
-Say what you want, I'm a Jeremy Clarkson fan...
-AMAZED that there's no car collecting achievement! I understand that people might have been put off by Forza 2's "Get every car" but with the only one in FM4 being "Get the 5 most expensive cars" I think that's kinda weak. I was picking the odd cars for my level rewards (AMC anyone?) until I realized this.
-On-track bonuses are a great idea but after the first race or so I found myself withing that the notice and noise from them would just go away. You might be able to change this in the settings, I've not looked. Also...no clue how I'm going to get a perfect drift (I SUCK at drifting).
-While I've not yet joined a club (my application is in though) I think the concept is pretty great.

Overall I'm really enjoying it, the game "feels" better than Forza 3.

Since I'm still on the demo until tomorrow it's the 'feel' that has impressed me most. Instead of 'Hey suddenly I have no grip and I'm in the sand" you can actually feel the point when you are pushing it and the tires start to lose grip. This is the first game that has ever made me feel like I'm actually driving and that seat of the pants skill comes heavily into play.

Don't you have to pay for the cars anyways? I entered all the codes from the LCE and still only had the starting car in my garage before I started racing.. Unless I'm missing something.
