Not sure if I'll be able to make it tonight, I have a huge lab report due tomorrow. It sucks too, that lotus is fun as hell to drive and will make for some pretty fun racing.

Well, it was funny!

There was some great racing last night, I agree. I can't believe I forgot to save the replay at Silverstone. Did anyone, by chance? I'm really not sure exactly what happened, but what I saw was a very rapidly closing hole and no place to go but through. I think Lotheron was on one side and maybe tevolo on the other. I believe I scraped tevolo but that's all that registered on my game so if I did spin you out buddy, I'm sorry. If it was someone other than tevolo, well, I'll be sorry to you, too :p

Yeah, there was a replay I meant to save last night and I too forgot to do it. Oh well's. There were a few bumps and punts (one or two from myself, sorry to those who I did it to, I remember Hopeless distinctly) but overall it was a relatively clean night for me. Didn't have any wins but a second or two and a few thirds. I still think it was ridiculous that Waldo joined late and started in the front of the grid...grumble grumble.

Mmmm...saw a Clemson hoodie in a store last night...the scent reminded me of Skinn...wait, sorry. Mind wandering.

I just have 1 question, HOW IN THE WORLD ARE YOU GUYS DOING 1:00 MIN TSUKUBA laps. Yes I used caps, its for EMPHASIS!!!!!!!!!

Am I braking too much?
Did my tune suck?
Can someone think of me when they see a hot girl???

She wasn't hot!!

As for Tsukuba you probably are braking too much. What tune did you use?

I actually have no clue what my lap time was there, I don't think it was particularly fast. Tsukuba isn't one of my better tracks...

I figure FM3 is like FM2 in the regards that some assists actually hurt lap times. For example in FM2 my lap times improved after I turned STM (stability control) off.

It is all about knowing the track. The racing line is good, but the braking areas are pathetic. I usually leave my braking areas on for race nights so I can see where other people are braking, on Tsukuba it was red in almost every corner all the way through. Corner exit speed is crucial. Especially on the back straight and then carrying the speed through the right hander and into the small front stretch.

Rolled my own. It was the only track I placed so something about it was right. Just have no idea what.

STM is off
I only use ABS and braking line

Easier said than done. IM a numbers guy and I hear alot of "exit speed is crucial" but have no idea what that really means. I saved some replays so I guess Ill copy what I see.

viewing from my rear wheel mirror skinny you are mostly correct. tavolo did went off roading but im unsure if it's you that punted him or if himself turned towards you and then bounced out, because in FM2, any light tap to tavolo will result in him fly off the track in accelerated speed... anything could happen

most likely all of the above but i will emphasize more on try to stay in the line at this point. turn the full line assist on to see where you should be going, some times they are not really the best line to take depending on your car (might want to always take late apex in a rocket car in race, for example), but they are all VERY decent.

to stay in the line first try to brake without engaging your ABS, because it is harder to regain steering control coming out of the brake if ABS is on. running behind you I saw that you were basically going sideways into the corner and sometimes coming out of it. don't floor the gas all the time. any loss of traction will kill your acceleration and hurt your time.

I don't know how you run with ABS/TCS off guys...I've tried both and it's less than pretty. I could do TCS if I had to but ABS is almost a requirement for me.

From my understanding.

Exit speed is the speed you are at when you are exiting the turn and can begin to accelerate. If you slow too much for the turn or miss the line of the turn you will be going slower upon exiting.

If one person can exit a corner at 50mph, but you exit it at 30mph. They already have an advantage by already going faster & spend less time re-accelerating.

u can start by not engage it when you have it enabled. most of the time i only apply half brake unless im determined to take on someone from the inside of a hard turn (i have a feeling that some of you might not like this...)

Its racing. I don't think anyone hates you for it. Just don't get mad when I don't leave the door wide open for you.

Agreed. It's racing and people make mistakes. Misjudge a distance or how fast you're closing or something. I did it to Ty at Sebring last night as Waldo can attest to. I try very hard to not wreck people and rather than punt him, I took myself off the track. I'm with Waldo, though, I'm not going to give anyone anything. I know where the racing line is and if someone wants to get around me, it's on them to make a move and go around me or properly force me off the line (again, as Waldo can attest to since he did it to me masterfully at Suzuka one time).

Unfortunately none of us posess the reflexes and skills of a true professional racer so passing isn't always as "pretty" as we'd like it to be. I've accepted that as a part of racing.

i think it's also the 90 degree FOV, especially in tight turns you can't see the car on the inside, you just have to guess by given car and driver.

I had setup that pass for at least 8 laps. Thats the one aspect of our short 4 lappers that just can't really be duplicated. 20-25 lap races you really get to see patterns and where your car is better/worse than the competition.

We need to start endurance race talks again!

Ya know, if you do Enduros on Tuesdays and it's not too late I could potentially join in, not 100% sure though. I'd be game for whatever though, so long as the cars aren't boring :p
