No, the new DLC Lotus fills the go-kart gap. This sounds like an actual car.

The car:

2006 Lotus Exige Cup 240 - B500

The rules:

No engine swap
Horsepower limit of 270hp (which is a lot believe it or not!)
Car must weigh more than 2,000lbs

The rest is up to you!

I think I've actually got that car. Looks like I'll have to start learning a bit more of the upgrades & tuning sections.

If I remember right you were the one that posted the link to the online tuning calc that quite a few of used for FM2. Have you or anyone else tried it for FM3 or have you found one for FM3?

Sounds fun! Great racing tonight guys, especially on Suzuka.

That was a close one at the end, at least I think it was you that I ended up having a drag race with to the finish line. I changed some things on my tv before I started FM3. Now for FM3 it's too bright over all & parts of the HUD are washed out.

The rules really are not that tough. Most of the Exige cars we would build would probably meet these requirements. I just wanted to get rid of the super top speed or the super handling. Something Famous is quickly becoming...well..famous for. :D

I checked on the storefront and there are lots of builds that meet these requirements for those that do not have the time to build anything. I do suggest trying the car out though. A MR car can seem a little unstable if driven like an AWD or FR vehicle.

Hopeless, feuerdog posted a Forza 3 tuning calculator back in December. I am not sure of it's worth though. Someone put purdy graphics on top of the math. Click on the flash video to get to the calc. http://bit.ly/b9uqr8

Great racing last night by the way. While the Ford GT was certainly the popular car OSJ got it done with the Viper on Catalyuna (sp?) in prime fashion. I didn't get knocked off track nearly as often as last week either. Much fun was had.

Yea, my Ford GT was great. If I started in the back of the pack it lost some of it's power which I think evened things out a bit. If I started out front it was pretty much over unless I wrecked. It was a screamer off the line! Just ask OSJ. haha!

Even if you bastardized it by making it AWD!

Some night in the near future (doesn't have to be a Wednesday) I think we all need to grab those Lotus 2-Eleven's and try a go-kart night. It's essentially an open-top Elise/Exige with roll bars.

Yosh

Just wanna say a quick thanks for allowing me to race with you guys. The gesture was very much appreciated even though my driving is at the level of a 10 year old on crack. Looking forward to the next races. (I'll be better I promise)

PS. This is GDWadadli by the way.

I'd like to race. Not sure if I can make it every Wednesday though. Add me please: jbcal

Thanks

Think I overlooked your post somehow. Sorry about that. We'd love to have ya! Just hop on and send me a message (Waldo J) or anyone else here and we'll get ya into a race. Sometimes we have people waiting to get in so we swap in and out often.

Yeah, I was awful when I started with these guys, now I'm only semi-awful.

If Ty can do it, anyone can!

I just got an xbox, is FM3 much better than 2? I just started a career in FM2. It reminds me of Sports Car GT for the PC, mix of sim and arcade racer.

I actually liked the career on FM2 more. FM3 has an "even calander" and you go through racing seasons. More organized but I prefer the style from FM2 more. It's alot of fun though.

i like FM3, much better force feedback and it helps a lot in races.

currently im driving it like the GT that's more slippery, i could see myself drive the same car through all maps next week.

I almost made one car for the entire night a rule. Then I thought, if someone was good enough to drive multiple versions of the car then more power to them. I always stick with one car nowadays. Its almost too easy to make a great handling car, a middle ground car, and a speed car to tag top spots in all the races. Its much more of a challenge imo with one car.

the car has too much grip for anything other than super short tracks anyway, i really don't see to need to build a super grip and start to chase down people in tsukuba short. IMO it's much harder to win a race with a grip car than a rocket car unless all you are after is to get decent place after a big wreck.

i think we should do the delay start again, as long as osj and waldo's behind me.

Wow, check out this ebay store, that's got to be the nicest collection of cars I've seen from a single shop on sale...ever.

Mercedes 300SL
Shelby GT350
Porsche 959/962
etc

Alright, Ima give your tune a whirl famous. The #1 tune on the storefront I also believe meets the criteria (and it's free) so I'll try both and see which works for me.
