Since the Endurance talk in the AT Forza night thread is interfering with the Wednesday night thread, it's probably a good idea to separate the threads. This thread will be updated frequently as everyone agrees on how the series should be handled.

Without further adieu, I present to you ...

FORZA MOTORSPORT 3 ENDURO Challenge... ROUND UNO!

Not to be confused with the Wednesday night racing!

Note: Fuel/Tire usage and collisions will be ON. Damage will be COSMETIC.

Serious racers only! This is not Cat & Mouse or wreck everyone race night. Newcomers are welcome but I will have to ask that your Forza True Skill Rank be at least a 18. Races will consist of 1 track each week lasting 60 minutes.

RULES & RESTRICTIONS

1. You must drive the same car each race week. Once the season starts, the car cannot be changed. Please make sure you are happy with your pick.

2. If you cannot make it one week you can HIRE a fill in driver but only 1/2 the points they win transfer to you.

4. Cars should be RACE PAINTED (not themed) and should show your #. If you do not have a # from prior race nights just post here what # you want and it's yours (if not already taken)

5. Each race will be 60 minutes long. Starting positions and times will be based on previous weeks time. Slower drivers will have a handicap and will start before faster drivers. This is the first time we've tried something like this, so there will be fine tuning required.

QUALIFYING

Since FM3 allows us to custom fine tune much of the race, instead of qualifying, we can place order and set starting times based on previous round's performance.

CAR RULES

1. Car must be A600 PI level
2. Car must be RWD
3. Forza Aero (Front and Rear) Required

PLEASE VOTE
The car selections, car requirements, general evenness rules, and night have not been finalized, so I leave it up to you to vote.

The voting is to last through the week ending on Friday, February 12th.

1) Select a night that would work best for you. Keep in mind Wednesday is ineligible due to the normal Wednesday night races.

2) Car rules:
Part A: *CONFIRMED* A600 / RWD / Forced Aero.
Part B: Should there be an allowance on editing the car midway through the season?

3) Instead of adjusting PI or even HP/weight should the next race adjust the start time based on the previous race's finish as in delaying the winner an amount of time letting slower drivers start sooner?

4) Since there are WAY more tracks this time around, send me your favorite track that you would like to see in the list. Plan on having 8-10 rounds for the first season.

5) Prize/Entry free removed. No need as pointed out.

6) How many races total? Every week, every other week?

If I'm missing anything, please let me know!

A few thoughts/votes:

1) Tuesday evenings would work the best for me (by far).
2) Who's funding the winnings? Remember, I volunteered my creds in Forza 2...because I had $40 million sitting in my account. I don't think anyone is particularly rich in FM3.
3) I vote for a power/weight ratio. I sorta like the idea, unless someone else can debunk it.
4) I like the Sports Cars list we have in the other thread, although there's a ton of good options.
5) I vote for Sunset Full for a track.
6) For simplicity's sake, I say stick with A600 (if that's what PI we choose) and adjust starting times. If we find that someone's car is grossly faster than the rest we can rethink this...for that reason I almost say go with a "demo" race before the actual season starts.
7) Depending on the night we race I'll hopefully be joining, Kabob #83.
8) I ♥ Porsche...but I think you already know that.

4 Mill isn't that difficult to come by but what does everyone think about a 500K entry fee to cover the winnings which comes out to 2.5Mill first , 1 Mil Second, .5 mill third?

Actually I think we can do this instead of HP/weight. Too bad for the guy in first sitting on the start line for 3 minutes first though. Although, if that was me, I think it would be a fun challenge to catch up before the 60 minutes is up.

Name Added to list

Stop reminding us :p

From FM2 enduro races, I liked it a lot better when everyone used the same car. Makes it easier since you don't have to try to build a lot of test cars and takes the possibity of one or a couple being way better than the rest out of the picture.

I'd vote for having to have forza front bumper & rear wing aero. Some have mentioned that they don't need them on some cars, if so there isn't much lost as they are adjustable so the amount of downforce can be turned down.

Edit:
Forgot to mention that I'm not sure if I'll be able to join in this round.

Bad idea, that more than anything is going to deter people from joining.

I still think the power:weight ratio is necessary, my suggestion was if power:weight didn't balance it out perfectly.

Stop reminding us :p

For the sake of keeping things interesting/adding variety I don't like the spec car rule. But it does make things easier.

We can take the money out of the equation all together, just figured it would be nice to have an award for long races

We can, but I don't think we will get it perfect....

Are you saying we should go spec?

well the only one that i participated was spec, the only problem is that the car choice was very poor. otherwise i think it's OK. but i would like to try something else though, so i prefer to have multiple cars. but here's what i think, we can allow people to change cars, but mandate to use the car for at least 2 (or more) consecutive tracks so people won't build special car for special tracks.

Nevah!!!

As for having multiple cars I'm still against it, I think you should choose one car and build and stick with it. Otherwise while you don't have a specific car for a specific track, you still have a "speed car" and "handling car" and such, you need a middle ground do everything car IMHO. Makes it more fair.

Yeah, but if I go with a downloaded storefront tune or something it's unchangable.

Besides, I know you'd intentionally goof up my tune to throw me off road...hax!

1) Tuesdays

2) Car rules: Power / Weight Ratio (Y/N)? Limit the cars to a select few or allow any A600 build?

I like the power/weight ratio thing and I think no AWD would be best.

Power to weight Ratio example:

3) Instead of adjusting PI or even HP/weight should the next race adjust the start time based on the previous race's finish as in delaying the winner an amount of time letting slower drivers start sooner?

Adjusting the start time would be awesome. Would present a nice challenge and balance. We can try it and see how it works!

4) Since there are WAY more tracks this time around, send me your favorite track that you would like to see in the list. Plan on having 8-10 rounds for the first season.

My favorite track is Maple Valley. :)

5) How's everyone feel about a 500K entry fee?

No need for a fee. No need for a prize. Wonder if we could work it with the mods to give the champion a special title here on the boards til the next season. :)

6) How many races total? Every week, every other week?

Every week. 8 total would be a good start.

Good points, although I'm confused by this:

You want to prevent challenge and balance? :p
