I thought this software was out since 2005? Guess it just needs a little tweaking.

Is anyone else severely disappointed at the new upgrade? It is slower, pictures are bigger, and I know most will agree that the FT Anandtech Professional look that was different than all other forums (you know, neat and tidy) is completely gone.

Anyway we can get a retro theme please????

It doesn't matter how pretty the interface is, I think the forum functions are still horrible.

This same thing happened the last time FT was 'upgraded,' nobody liked it and it was worse than the previous version yet nothing was done about it. This time is a tad bit more embarrasing for the FT crew but the point remains.

Don't fix what isn't broken.
Fix what IS broken.

Wow it is very slow compared to the old (and that was slow sometimes) especially when rating a thread. It also goes back to the beggining when rating a thread, annoying.

Also the no last button is driving me crazy and the search is listing 25 page threads as only one page. Did you change the default number of posts/page?

I think the 500 posts per page makes up for that though.

I miss the 'last' button that used to found within the thread. There is a link to the first post (if you're on page 10) but not the other way around :(

The automatic censoring is gone. Back is the aggravating "Your post contains a censored word, but I'll be damned if I'm going to tell you which word it is.. mwahahaa!" pop-up. :(

What does this even mean?
Are you impaired?

It looks fancy, bright colors, fancy icons, etc. But it was a more usable forum before the upgrade. Everything is big and chunky, I feel like I'm reading a letter written in crayon. It's a Fisher-Price forum now, not a technical one.
That has nothing to do with what Web 2.0 is but good job being a smart ass throughout the thread.

Hope Jason fixes this too.

EDIT: Just played around with the quickly reply thing under topic tools. It is horribly messed up and does not close, it just goes back to the top.

ALso the date stamps are white and does not show on the grey background and are out of the tables and half covered by the bold and italtic buttons.

Also killing me is the inability to middle mouse click on the page numbers to open them in tabs. They've been changed to some kind of object that is not actually a link.

I can't get the 'Add Ignored User' feature to work completely. For example, I can add Jason Clark (no offense Jason) to my Ignored Users list and when I look at the Forum Issues page I DO NOT SEE this thread because he started the thread. That part works fine.

When I remove Jason Clark so that I can see this thread and instead add the user bruceb (no offense bruceb), I still see bruceb's posts.

For everything else, I'm getting used to it. What I miss the most is being able to jump to the last page in a thread and my visited threads not changing color.

Crap you're right, I always used that, now they are like the old profile buttons. :(

I second (if it's number 27, please excuse me, number 2) that motion.

Also, I agree with the quoted wisdom (last post or two), fix what's broken, not what isn't broken.

Whiny emo kids in OT and a visual style that 4 year old children love. What's not Web 2.0 about it?

Uh, here's a tip for you guys who miss a "last button":

In Profile, go to the second tab (Personal Options) and choose Descending. Then when you hit a subscribed thread you are taken by default to the last post, not the first. I've run FT like that for years.

Cool it with the white background!

Actually, pastel colors, large, simple icons, larger text sizes, more white space, etc - all these things have become synonymous with the "Web 2.0" shift, even if they are not required, or do not typify its principles.

So in that regard, the forum does indeed a feel a bit "Web 2.0-ish"

It's no wonder that you can't find an IT job when you don't even know what the terminologies mean.

Is the font size say 2 points bigger for anyone else when posting and replying to threads or writing PM's?
