Forum software messing up the % (percent) symbol

The forums seem to be eating the percent symbol and turning it into a character entity, but not correctly.

It's changing it to % which is correct but then being converted again so that the ampersand gets replaced with & so the actual text coming through is %

For example: This conversion is 100% FUBAR.

It may be doing this to other characters as well, but this is the only one that has jumped out at me.

We're aware, and it's being looked in to. The problem is that for some reason the forum is spitting out a corrupted entity code for the symbol rather than the symbol proper.

Or something. I used the symbol twice in one sentence, first was messed up as OP states, second was fine.

Yeah I just saw a few posts with this. The first one, I just didn't understand what the poster was trying to even state. And then another post in the same thread I saw it again, by a different poster.

It's a bug in vB introduced in 3.8.6, which is what we upgraded to during the recent downtime. At this point we're waiting on 3.8.7, which will fix the issue. In the mean time guys you'll have to hang tight.

I've made a user script to fix it.

Seems to fix the images, too.
