Yeah, nobody here is paying anything and even if they did, paying members don't have a lot to say about this kind of thing.

But you'd think a global tech publishing/media company would care more about appearances.

That said, Amazon used to have a thriving forum community. Dozens of boards across a wide range of topics. They cut back the mod staff and let problem posters get out of hand. It got to the point they couldn't reign it back in, so they shut the whole thing down. Wiped millions of posts.

This has been going on for a long time now. It really is starting to feel like the beginning of the end of the forum.

Yeah but it always loaded fast... at least for me.

I wonder if they will give up trying to fix this configuration issue and just migrate to a different forum software. Hope it doesn't look crap. UI matters a lot when you are spending hours on a site.

Anyone else remember the “old days” when we used to point and laugh at the “premier tech site” that used to completely shut down for “maintenance” every Saturday (?) night? Other than that fiasco, things worked right.

Maybe they need to go back to weekly maintenance.

Hey folks,

The issue isn't maintenance. I'm waiting to hear back on when we can start taking the steps needed to get this resolved, so please bear with us. I'd love to be able to promise an immediate fix to all issues, but our expectations should be realistic, so I am aiming for substantial improvement (once we can actually do the next step). I'll give an update the moment I know more.

So realistic is no fix after months of issues? OK...

The forum members aren't going to hang around much longer with the way things are currently running. A fix needs to happen sooner rather than later, please.

Am basically getting nothing but 502 and 504 errors. Had to reload this page 5 times to get through.

And the issue is?
