Can we atleast agree that Jenny was a whore?

She not only was a whore, but she was a drug addict, a tree-hugging hippie, and a battered GF.

I love it. what a shame, I didn't get to see this movie until last year. immediately after that, I watched it again the next night. It is such a great movie.

yeh, and she died of AIDS.

the movie was great because they worked so much history into it, and Forrest was a class act.

:music: Mostly due to the soundtrack ... the way it was integrated into the movie made the film. :music:

How they worked history and culture of the different generations into the movie was one of the best things about the movie. The humor in how his actions were worked into history with Elvis's dancing, Hurricane Camille and the shrimp industry, the jogging across country and jogging, and the $hit Happens phrase.

It's a very good movie because of its story. Hanks and Sinise both acted well in it. However, it's not one of the all time greats because of its limited replay value. You can watch it once and enjoy it for what it is. But, you won't notice any more subtleties or hidden meanings by watching it again and again.

Actually, that's pretty much all the movie has going for it. I loved it the first time I watched it because of the fractured history lesson, but once the surprises are spoiled, it's a very long and not that entertaining movie.

A great movie to watch once, but an awful movie to watch the second time.

people don't have to be so critical of movies. when you watch a movie, just relax, let yourself be immersed in the world that the cast, crew, director, etc's have created and see how you feel when the credits roll.

After this movie, I felt satisfied with Tom Hank's character, and the acting was soo convincing enough that it felt almost real.

I left the theatre w/ a smile and a good feeling. That same year, Pulp Fiction came out as well. Great movie. 🙂

Now that I think about it, the 80's created awesome trilogies (SW, Karate Kid, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future...) and fun adventures (goonies, blues bros, etc)

and 90's created awesome groundbreaking, memorable standalone films like Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, Jurassic Park (CG dinosours?! really??!! omg wtf!!!), Terminator 2, Fargo, Dumb and Dumber, Truman Show, Leaving Las Vegas, among others etc...

yay for awesome movies!

speaking of Forrest Gump, has anyone been to the Bubba Gump shrimp restaurant in Manhattan? any good?

I've been to the one in Mall Of America. It was good food at typical unnecessarily high theme restaurant prices.
