people don't have to be so critical of movies. when you watch a movie, just relax, let yourself be immersed in the world that the cast, crew, director, etc's have created and see how you feel when the credits roll.
After this movie, I felt satisfied with Tom Hank's character, and the acting was soo convincing enough that it felt almost real.
I left the theatre w/ a smile and a good feeling. That same year, Pulp Fiction came out as well. Great movie.
Now that I think about it, the 80's created awesome trilogies (SW, Karate Kid, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future...) and fun adventures (goonies, blues bros, etc)
and 90's created awesome groundbreaking, memorable standalone films like Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, Jurassic Park (CG dinosours?! really??!! omg wtf!!!), Terminator 2, Fargo, Dumb and Dumber, Truman Show, Leaving Las Vegas, among others etc...
yay for awesome movies!
