OK< 70,000 ppd suspended. So turn it back on at 3:20 PST tomorrow ? Will my 6 boxes run out of work ?

Only 53,000 so far today, and I guess no more ?
 
Depends on what you had it set to download, did you have your Options/Computing Preferences set for at least 1 day of work? If not, bump it up, re-enable network activity and grab some more tasks then go dark again.

As to the time, anytime AFTER 3:01pm your time is fine.

Started 2100 UTC which is 5pm EST, so 4, 3, 2. Anytime after 2:01PM your time. 😉
 
OK, 5 of the 6 I could do that on. One computer had no options for that. So, 5 of the 6 are set to 1 day, and store an additional 2. How long to download all of that ? I have 30 meg internet, up and down.

The one with no options is 7.2.47 and running windows 7.
 
You could upgrade to the latest version Mark, but what isn't broke....

Just keep clicking on the menu items at the top, one of them has the settings for.....network usage I think they used to call it. Your queue is in that tab.
 
Apparently for Windows 7, 7.2.47 is the best I can run.

So, how long to download all this one to two year of stuff before I go dark again ?
 
On my last machine, and starting to have trouble filling up a days cache, its only giving a few units. Upped to like 5 days and got a few more.
 
One cool thing though. My FX-6300 is crunching 6 WCG tasks and 3 MW tasks at the same time. Gonna suspend MW for a while and see if I can get my WCG cache filled up.

Edit. Every one must be downloading only got 8 tasks on the quad core so far, Communication is deferring bad.

Well, I found the file on another computer, and installed it ! So hw long to "bunker" the downloads ?
 
Anyone else getting the 2:00 deferrer on tasks, I suspended MW and have had no other tasks download from WCG yet.

My old settings were for Zika and Ebola. Changed them to the Cancer and Zika, guess it takes there systems a bit to update. I have not gotten a Cancer task on any system. On my last one and having trouble getting anything cached at the moment.
 
@Markfw, in boincmgr's advanced view, use Tools/ Event log to monitor the log, make sure you have the (estimated) queue depth set to what you want in Options/ Computing preferences/ Computing tab: Store at least [...] days of work.

As soon as you do not see anymore download activity in the log, and the "Projects" tab of the main window does not show "Communication deferred": Update the project and look at the log whether it requests more work from the server, or whether it says "Not requesting tasks: don't need (job cache full)", or "Not requesting tasks: too many runnable tasks". (The latter is not ideal but less likely to happen.)

don't use "Update" on a project too frequently, or the server might detach your client. I don't know how the server policy at WCG is in this regard. Hence I mentioned not to use "Update" while "Communication deferred" is showing in the projects tab.

I let it run its cycle several times. I am going to give it an hour and see what happens, have to do some yardwork and cook on the grill before the sun gets too low. Ill check back in a bit, I just want to suspend these 8 tasks it gave me before they complete since I need to leave the network on to fill up the cache when its available.
