Something just dumped in the last 1/2 hour. I have 134k for what I think is either 1/2 day stat, or 3/4. @crashtech is at 34k, @ZipSpeed is at 32k and @Tennessetony is at 26k. The team has done 319k for the day so far.

What does that 6th place look live now ?

Boinc@Taiwan and SETI.Germany are close behind us, and neither of these two have bunkered yesterday. (They are not sprinting.) Expect them to overtake us soon.

CNT bunker until late even at PrimeGrid (where most people upload as early as they can, in order to find primes earlier than the wingman). Their output today and tomorrow will probably not be representative for their final performance in this sprint.

For everybody who happens to jump to the end of this thread:
The link to the current hourly sprint stats can, as always, be found in Orange Kid's up-to-date post #1.

I just got started today around noon (didn't have time to bunker).

I brought in some spare capacity :D so we'll see if it makes some difference.

I have the petal to the metal, more than 256 threads, and over 120 of them threadrippers ! (those run way faster than my 2683v3's)
Is that true on many projects? Because I just got a 2683v3. Though at the price I paid it's worth it either way.

I am left to wonder, as we slowly drop from 7th, the 8th, then possibly to 9th......will we find ourselves suddenly in 3rd or 4th place, the last few hours of the race? It seemed to happen all the time last year...sudden point gains in the final hours. :D

I just sold 2 2683v3's for $625 each on ebay. As far as performance, one 1700x or 1800x@3.8 can almost equal a 2683v3 on most tasks, at 1/2 the price. A threadriper@3.8 (way easy to do at stock vcore) destroys it at $850 (what I paid for the last 2) with almost twice the performance.

Running Smash Childhood Cancer:

*all clocks are stock
2683v3 #1 on Linux: 1h55m
2683v3 #2 on Win10: 3 to 4.5 hours (I'd best be getting this one back to Linux  )
ThreadRipper on Win10: 2h05m
Xeon E3 v5 on Win10: 1h05m (I continue to be astonished at this little guys performance)
Ryzen 1700 on Linux: 1h25m
i7-5820K on Win10: 2h15m

@Markfw , you sold just the CPU for that much?

I rather go with post #137 as an orientation.

Teams with large user base, who are not sprinting:
Gridcoin, Team 2ch, Team China, Boinc@Taiwan, SETI.Germany (5 teams)

Teams with large user base, who are sprinting:
SETI.USA, L'Alliance Francophone, Czech National Team (3 teams)

Teams with comparably small user base, who are sprinting:
ourselves, Rechenkraft.net, Overclock.net, Planet 3DNow!

Regarding the 8 teams which I listed first, check out their daily averages e.g. at free-dc.

Merely 17 hours into this race and with some ~20 hours big bunkers emptied, we still have 0.56 as many points as Team China, who are 4th now. During the WCG X-mas race, we made 0.27 as many points as TC.

As another data point, CNT had 218 users who made points yesterday, we had 30.

Sprint number three....WCG
Lots of power in this project, so seventh is very respectable. We are 14th in the marathon with Seti.Germany and the Czech National Team ahead of us in WCG and in the overall Marathon.. If we can stay ahead of them in the sprint we can gain some points on both.:D
Meanwhile in local news...thunderstorms today:worried: and 6~12 inches of snow tomorrow:eek::eek::eek:...enjoy your warm weather elsewhere in the world.

1 Gridcoin ..................................25 ...........5,144,232
2 Team 2ch ................................18 ...........2,344,898

It would seem that we are secure in 7th place, and not much will save us, except over 300 more cores. I am leading with 179k with 256 cores, and we are short over 200k.
