Former Marine brings pocket-knife to gunfight...

I don't understand. If I were him I would have done my best to kill all four people, even if I had to chase them down and murder them in the hospital...

That still leaves the problem of him having been robbed by five people who possibly don't want to be described to the police by the person they just robbed. If he had just given them his money right away, they would have had time to surround him and basically do whatever they wanted with him. He knew he had a knife and, by running, he gave himself the chance to get it out to defend himself.
Has anybody been robbed or had someone attempt to rob them? A guy tried to stop me once and demanded my money, but I pushed past him and got out of there. I didn't want to give him the chance to show me what kind of robber he was.

Guys I just learned that he didnt just stab her. Apparently he stabbed her at the belt line and pulled the knife all the way up to her throat!!!

This was from a person that knew a nurse that was working at that hospital today.

Thats pretty intense!

Moral of the story...don't bring a knife to a gunfight...unless you're a Marine.

I'd like for that to be true, but I smell shens. The guy was fighting off four attackers and had time to not just stab the girl but also slice her through her rib cage up to her throat? I doubt it...

This reminds me of A History of Violence. These robbers picked the wrong guy. Still, I feel bad for him - justified or not (and this clearly was IMO), it can't be a good feeling to have stabbed a pregnant teenager to death. This will stay with him for a long time.

I guess I don't see why the hospital released the information that she was two weeks pregnant. Presumably even she probably didn't know she was, after such a short period.

Aye...but goddamn.

Do NOT fvck with a marine.

That brings up an interesting point. You're more likely to get attention yelling "fire!" than anything else, whether it be robbery, rape, etc.

YUP! They taught me that in grade school actually, saying no one pays attention to 'rape' but 'fire!' gets everyone attention...

I think it's cause 'fire' implies something which could hurt anyone...so people care more

Yeah. Fire spreads..rape doesn't.

The AJC Newspaper tried to spin this as the "Former Marine Kills Pregnant Woman" but they quickly retracted the headline from the web site.

I wonder if it shows up in the print edition.

Fvcking sleazy newspapers. The media blows.

Marine did what he had to... It just depresses me that the woman was pregnant.

How could it depress you? Well I guess I can see how, trying to extend the gene pool and all, well the good news is that she shall no longer be a long term threat to society by pooping out that baby...

Yeah, well, the gene pool got a little more bleach today...

I don't know why anyone feels bad that she was pregnant. Pregnant or not - she had it coming. I say, less burden on the social welfare in the future in this case.

Exactly.

With a pocket knife? That's a little hard to believe, but it is possible. The nurse working at the hospital probably heard it at least third hand, though. I'm working in a hospital right now and news tends to get greatly exaggerated as it makes its way around to all the floors. If the nurse was working in the ER when they came in and saw the girl, then I'd believe it.
