No really, after I freeze it will it just slide off or what?

Wow.

Did you guys just play me for a gullible fool? :p Damn you

lol no.

Ok, lets work this out.

What is the danger in taking this out yourself? Because the ink will spill out and stain your shirt.

What happens when you put a liquid in a freezer? Generally they freeze.

If something is frozen, it won't spill.

So freeze it, then take some pliers and go to work on it.

SHOPLIFTER. BAN!

jk. Go to the store, tell them that they forgot to pull of the tag. A theif woudln't exactly bring back the thing and say "PMFG I NEED HELP GETTING THE TAG OFF A SHIRT I STOLE!!!"... so talk to the manager or whatever and they'll help out.

But how the hell did you get through the security with that thign still on? I always thought that those things got trigger'd

what doesn't make sense is that the tag is on after he paid for it. the security bell would have sounded if he went out the door.

I say SHOPLIFTER!

Say what you wish. I don't steal, I'm just not like that. I don't know why the security device didn't go off, maybe because I bought a few things and the shirt was just buried in the other clothes so it didn't get read. I WISH the damn alarm went off so I could have a shirt without a hole in it :(....That's right...I made a small hole in the shirt to remove the device. No ink spilled though.

This was exactly what I was going to ask. How did you get out of the store with the tag still on anyhow? And I don't understand why you're saying that you forgot to take it off, isn't that the cashier's job?

A lot of people (including myself) know how erroneous those security machines are. So if something beeps, we keep right on walking. You are under no legal obligation to stop just because the tag set off the alarm. This has happened to me several times because of things that must've been on me, not because of the clothes I bought.

working this quarter with a guy on a project (who likes to point out everything, and make others feel dumb about what they say), I would just like to point out that, some thing are implicit in what others say. When he said he forgot to take it out, he just worded it incorrectly, but everyone in the forum knew what he meant, and you out of everyone had to question it.

Macy's did this to a pair of shorts I bought today. I pulled on the security device and now they have ink on them Hopefully they will take them back.

No kidding. Most stores only tend to pick up stuff from their store, but there's a music store in one of the malls here that for whatever reason always goes off if you bring in ANYTHING bought at Target. So eventually I grew to expect it to go off whenever I brought Target goods into said music store, and one day I just tossed my arms in the air as I passed through the gate... and didn't hear a beep.

I felt pretty odd walking into the store throwing my arms up in the air for no reason that anyone could see.

maybe the devices in the store have broken down, and the management are too stingy to pay to get them fixed or buy new ones. the mere presence of the tag security system acts as a deterrent for most people (even if it isn't working) cos people think it will go off.
