They weren't out of context because they were exactly about what you were talking about, AMD's position. They also showed how you felt about them at the time, therefore serving as valid quotes to use when talking about how you feel about them now.
I'm not saying that your opinion of AMD didn't change. That's obvious. Hell, I think just about everyone's opinion about AMD has changed.
To me, it just seems awkward how one can be so sure AMD is "going down the tubes" - therefore leaving a monopoly in the GPU arena which means high-prices, slower development / releases, and poor driver support - while at the same time expect PC gaming to "boom" better than consoles. The very act of AMD dying would slow PC gaming down even more, which wouldn't help in the influence to move from console mainstream to PC mainstream.
