My company just bought an ASX-1000 with the SCP-p5-400 cards in it and all of them (6 SCP cards in all) are going straight to bootP except for one of them. Is there a way to pull the image off of the working scp so that I can put it onto the other cards, or is there some super secret way to get the primary SCP to copy the image over to the cards that are displaying bootP. I have tried the "hardware dualscp syncronize -syncronize flash", but that doesn't seem to do the trick. If there is not a way to do either of the above does anyone have a copy of the install image to get these up and running that I could get from them?

Is this a joke ?

Fore existed in the nineties. They were acquired by another company in 1999. (By GEC, which was acquired by Marconi, which was acquired by Ericsson). The stuff you are talking about is 15 years old. Do you really expect anyone on a public forum to answer your questions ???

First time poster. Must be someone trying to build post-count, so he can start spamming soon. Admins, just ban his account and ip-address. Can't go wrong there.

Just because something is old doesn't mean that it is no longer being used or wanted. I am the tech for a company www.nwrusa.com that buys and sales networking equipment that is well over 10 years every day of the work week. We even sale 14.4 K modems.
I am the tech, so it is my job to get things working. I leave the sales stuff up to the sales guys.

Well, this is your first post here. That always raises some suspicion. Some spammers will post bogus messages, to get to the minimum post-count required to be able to post URLs.

Fore Systems' atm-switches were machines used in the cores of the biggest networks. Serious stuff. But that was 15-18 years ago. ATM in the Internet was killed by MPLS and PoS. ATM in telco-networks was killed by the Internet (and high-speed non-ATM interfaces, removing the need for small cells to reduce latency of voice).

Questions that are asked here are usually: "my WiFi is slow", "my Internetz stopped working" and "what kinda cable do I need". You're not gonna find many people here who know something about atm-switches. (There are a few people who know a lot about professional equipment, but those are firewalls, servers, etc. Not atm).

The last time I heard someone mention BootP was also 15 years ago. Or more.

You write that you just bought an ASX-1000. I could believe if someone had an ancient part of a network that they hadn't touched for 10 years, that had a Fore Switch in it. But to buy a new one ? Why ? Gigabit Ethernet stuff is dead cheap. And a lot faster than anything those old ATM switches can do. (Correct me if I'm wrong. I googled a bit, and mostly found linecards for T1/E1 and T3/E3 speeds). Sure, none of my business.

My apologies if you are serious.
I'm still a bit flabbergasted that you are serious. :)

But you should realize that very few people these days will know the answer to your questions. You'd be better off asking Ericsson. Sorry. Good luck.

The URL to my companies website is the first and only time that I will post a URL unless it is a URL to a site that helps someone out. I posted it only to show that old equipment is still being bought and sold on a daily bases. Most of the older items that we sale goes over seas, and sometimes sold to either the state or even the government.
