Well, this is your first post here. That always raises some suspicion. Some spammers will post bogus messages, to get to the minimum post-count required to be able to post URLs.
Fore Systems' atm-switches were machines used in the cores of the biggest networks. Serious stuff. But that was 15-18 years ago. ATM in the Internet was killed by MPLS and PoS. ATM in telco-networks was killed by the Internet (and high-speed non-ATM interfaces, removing the need for small cells to reduce latency of voice).
Questions that are asked here are usually: "my WiFi is slow", "my Internetz stopped working" and "what kinda cable do I need". You're not gonna find many people here who know something about atm-switches. (There are a few people who know a lot about professional equipment, but those are firewalls, servers, etc. Not atm).
The last time I heard someone mention BootP was also 15 years ago. Or more.
You write that you just bought an ASX-1000. I could believe if someone had an ancient part of a network that they hadn't touched for 10 years, that had a Fore Switch in it. But to buy a new one ? Why ? Gigabit Ethernet stuff is dead cheap. And a lot faster than anything those old ATM switches can do. (Correct me if I'm wrong. I googled a bit, and mostly found linecards for T1/E1 and T3/E3 speeds). Sure, none of my business.
My apologies if you are serious.
I'm still a bit flabbergasted that you are serious.
But you should realize that very few people these days will know the answer to your questions. You'd be better off asking Ericsson. Sorry. Good luck.
