I know that several Mercury vehicles were simply rebranded / improved Ford vehicles. In the long run, should reduce overhead. This likely should have been conducted years ago. It makes sense to have just two (mainstream and high-end) brands. Looks like no layoffs at Ford and they plan to focus their resources more on the Lincoln brand, but some dealerships might be consolidated. Mercury is now less than 1% of the market.
