Nefarious.... no just trying to make a few bucks on some good deals that they have in the store. Turns out they are afraid my purchases will wind up at some flea market, and hurt their local dealers.
I agree with you 100% Russ, I didnt think its any of their damm bussiness if I resell as long as I'm paying full asking price, on discontinued and overstock merchandise no less. So what if I buy 100 pair???They asked what am I doing with them???WTF, it's none of their business (but they think it is). This particular merchant has been hasseling me for the past 2 years, but it came to a head last week when I was asked to leave their store, without any shoes. I was sternly asked to phone corporate to discuss this matter, which I did. Still waiting to hear back from them. It appears that I will need to become a distributor, but I need to hear the details from the horses mouth so to speak, not from some minimum wage clerk at their outlet store. Sorry to disappoint you all, but no good drugs here.

I think I can understand what the store management is thinking. Most stores, especially when selling items in limited availability (for example, discontinued merchandise) will limit the amount purchased at a time by a person. Usually they will not allow sales or dealers or resellers (people that want to buy in bulk) because there is simply not enough to go around.

Basically, if you buy out all of their good shoes, it could hurt their sales because less people will come in and shop with all the good stuff sold out. And trust me, if you're out of stock, people will bitch, scream, and complain. I work in retail and people do come in and say "Why the Fvck did you let that !@#$%^&*() buy them all?!? I wanted one!"

I can see their point. You may buy 100 pairs, but if they sell those 100 pairs to 100 other people, they may buy socks, more than one pair, other things that are higher-profit items.

I would also think you're attitude with them might not be the best.. Have you thought about slipping the manager a few bucks?
