I have a twin platform bed.

I don't toss and turn and hate sharing beds. I like it when it's really cold when I sleep.

Sometimes I sleep on the floor instead of the bed.

I don't toss and turn, I don't roll around while I sleep. It's cheap as hell and takes up virtually no room. And, when I go camping, it instantly folds up perfectly into its own bag that I can sling over my shoulder along with the rest of my gear. Efficiency FTW.

Is it comfortable? You sleep on it every night?

I sleep on the floor, so I'm even more efficient than you :p

His options were between two beds, so I voted Queen.

Queen is nice but a pain in the arse to move. King is too big for most bed rooms and more than a pain when move (except for people that get size over quality).

I sleep on my couch. I have not found a bed that my back can handle. The reason the couch works for me is that it has a foot of soft foam cushions and I sink right into it. The problem with most beds is the spring?s push back too much for my back. I also tried waterbeds and they hurt my back just as much. My ribs seem to get sore around 4 or 5 hours of sleep on these beds. It is a weird corky thing of mine but I have to sleep like that to keep my body from going nuts at night.

So I votes COUCH.

Yes, it's comfortable and yes I sleep on it every night. 2 blankets and 2 pillows make it pretty snazzy.

I have a twin as an actual bed, but I normally sleep on my futon which is a full.

I'm single and have a full-sized bed. If I bought a new one, I might go a little bit larger though.

Do you have a headboard? Do you think it's worth having?

I have one, but I've never not had one, so I can't really tell you for sure if it's truly worth having. I believe my friend doesn't have one and he does something to mitigate that... I think it's moving his bed out from the wall a bit or shifting his pillows down further. Not sure why you'd really need one... if you hit your head on the wall or the headboard, it probably wouldn't feel that great either way :p.

Get a tempurpedic clone. Same thing. I have a king size - was less than 600 dollars shipped.

Edit: Wasn't single when I got it though. Heh.

I have a full, and that works out just fine unless it's REALLY hot in the room, then it's a little hard to sleep on one side..but I like to curl up on my side anyway, so it's no problem for me.

Also I'm really afraid that I'm going to end up breaking my bed I just got from IKEA. :(

I figure it's most useful for reading in bed or propping yourself up to watch a movie or something.

But I can't justify an extra $50 for it. I can always just put up a bunch of pillows I suppose.

I voted full because that's what I have (and I'm single), but it seems you're actually asking for a recommendation.

Well if it means anything, I'm going to buy a queen sized bed soon. My old bed broke and I've just been sleeping on a mattress on the floor for a while... kinda janky.

I got the MALM bed, in a black/brown color combination, with a slatted base. I've slept on it no problems in the last few nights, but unlike my roommate I'm not a complete whore so I don't know what'll happen if I ever bring someone home. :

But overall, it's pretty good. No huge boxes--you get three boxes, and then the slatted base. All you need is a phillips head screwdriver and you're set. Assembly is pretty simple, too.

This is why I love Ikea. I just bought some furniture from them (a desk, dresser, and chair) and it took MAYBE 2 hours total to assemble them all.
