My room is approximately 10x10, maybe 10x9.5 (didn't get an accurate measurement this morning). The frame I'm considering is:

Full: 76" x 58" (6'4" x 4'10")
Queen: 81" x 60" (6'9" x 5')

My desk is on the opposite wall, and my closet is deep enough for storage/dresser/etc. Also, the bed is raised 15", so I can store stuff underneath as well.

Should I jump the gun for the queen? Or is a full bed Good 'n Plenty? I don't want to compromise real estate in my room, but other than my desk, the only thing I might add is a TV stand. But even then, I'd use my monitor (HDMI) for console gaming.

Edit:

In my case the difference between queen and full is $20.

Queen baby, no question. Much better to have the extra room and if you do ever happen to bring a lady home, she will appreciate it.

My bedroom is approx. 13'x13', and it fits a queen bed, large desk, and two dressers just fine.

The price between a queen and a full is little if anything. Get a bed that is good. Buy online and NEGOTIATE!. I got a bed with SRP of 5,000 for 1600. I made an offer, one a few hundred less than the last, to one online bed-seller after another.

Go to the store and lay on your back for at least 10min so you can figure out what bed is best for you. Sometimes you can't tell the $700 ones from the $2000 ones.

I only have room for a full, but my girlfriend is small so it works out. She recently got rid of her twin and bought a queen for cheap. That bed is amazing! When I sleep over I get half of the bed all to myself and I don't even have to touch her (if I don't want to). It really beats the crap out of sleeping on top of each other and waking up with a sore shoulder/neck.

My SO and I used to share a twin...

So I would think a double would be enough? For only $20, a queen is tempting though. You don't want your bed to take up too much of the room though...

I sleep in a full cause for my current room anything else would be too big but I'd love a queen or king.

If you don't mind me asking OP, what mattress are you thinking of getting and where are you thinking of getting it?

the differences are marginal but I dunno about you but you're not gonna be able ot fit desk and later a tv stand in your room. If you put the bed on one side up against the wall you only have 5 feet to teh side and less than 4 feet @ the ends to work with. You must have a pretty small desk. Even if its just two feet deep desk, you only have 3 feet of walking space left.

Maybe its me but I like to have some decent space to move around.

I'm not single, but for the first 6 months after I got married we slept on a full and didn't have any problems. Then we upgraded to a Queen and it was great but it wasn't a drastic change. About 6 months after that we decided to upgrade to a King and the change is enormous. We visited my parents last weekend and slept on a Queen in the guest bedroom and it felt so small I couldn't stand it. I don't know how we survived 6 months on a full.

A nice queen bed for a single person would be great.

Nomad Platform Bed

$180 is kinda costly but it includes shipping.

I was looking at a bed from Ikea that would run me $130. However, I drive a Civic, and don't know anyone with a truck/van, so I'd have to fork over some cash and rent a truck from U-haul, which I calculated to be ~$50.

So it evens out.

This is my concern.

My desk is 2' x 4' (folding table).

From 10, subtract 5 for the bed, 2 for the desk, and I've got 3 feet for my chair to roam.
