This is just my own limited experience, but to me it seems like a lot of miserable people have had very easy lives.

Maybe it's part of human nature to need real stress and problems to be mentally balanced.

Everyone has stress and problems. If your stress comes from simple survival, well that's a lot more rewarding than being stressed about getting your new Mercedes in the color you want.

I never said you said I did.

So I guess your quoting my reply - instead of quoting nothing at all - was just a coincidence.

Believe what you want, Nik. I'm not here to convert you or anyone else. But if anyone wants to know what's made the most difference in my happiness, it's Jesus. On the other hand, all you have to offer is an attack on my "fairy tale."

Stay classy.

Why are you happy? Mostly due to the awesomeness that is my wife.

How did this come about? I honestly don't remember, but there was booze involved. It was mostly just luck though.

Wish i could say the same thing as you :(

Want to know what made me the most happy? The day the Tooth Fairy saved me from hell. WWTTFD? Through the Tooth Fairy's grace and mercy, my eternal soul shall live on with her in CandyLand forever after I die.

Look, bub, you brought it up. I replied. You don't have to continue trying to convince me that your fairy tale is true, but continue replying if you feel so convicted. If you don't want to talk about it, don't bring it up.

Not sure how I would answer that; I'm happy, just because I'm happy. I just do my thing and don't let stuff bother me. /shrug

I'm truly happy. A lot of that has to do with having a wonderful wife and a family that I love. My dogs make me happy. I enjoy my job (not necessarily every day, but overall I really appreciate my job and how my company treats me). I also feel very lucky to have a great set of friends who are true friends.

I've also been very lucky to not have major issues in my life. My family has been healthy and I have been healthy. No one in my family is having major financial problems or major relationship issues.

Am I happy every second...heck no...but I just have to remind myself how lucky I am and I quickly get over the small stresses I have in day to day life.

I'm happy because while I celebrate the new experiences and successes along the way, I'm never content to stay where I am. There is always a new goal or challenge to undertake, new people to meet and places to explore.

I look to learn and improve, and when I decide to pursue something, I can usually be pretty successful.

As well, I have good friends and family, and it makes me feel good to help them out, and to receive their help too. Symbiosis is beautiful.
