You seem to have a lot of difficulty understand what's fake news and what's information being reported that you don't like.

Pizzagate is fake news. FEMA camps is fake news. The latest one that Obama is setting up a shadow government is fake news. Actual information that is based in things that actually occurred is not fake news.

It was reported that Russia attacked the US electric grid.
That was fake news, or are you so consumed in partisanship that you don't give a shit?

Yes, the definition of 'fake news' has basically been destroyed by conservatives and I imagine that was deliberate. 'Fake news' is not 'a news story I don't like' or 'a news story that turns out to be wrong', it's news that is deliberately created with the purpose to deceive. Those Washington Post stories might have ended up being wrong, but there is no evidence they were knowingly deceptive.

What's going on right now is sheer unadulterated hatred for "others".
And when fake news is posted by the "left"? Multiple times?
Attack those who question it, and label them other.

What's going on right now is the continued madness of the 2016 election. Unending polarization and hatred.
As pulled from another topic:

We are warning against extremism pure and simple. Against calls for vengeance by those who feel wronged by the election.

But most of what's happening isn't like that at all. There are problematic elements, but they are not the majority.

The subtext of what you're saying is: stop thinking, stop questioning. Conform. Submit. Obey your new masters. And that's wrong. Just because the left is vocal and persistent doesn't mean that it's going too far.

If it weren't for the persistence of the media, the traitor Flynn would still be compromising national security.

Hayabusa Rider is raising the alarm at calls for vengeance by those who feel wronged by the election. It is extremism pure and simple.

The fox news independents just can't help themselves. Anything the conservatives do the liberals must be just as bad, and because of the cover they're obligated to provide it's in the interest of conservatism to be as degenerate as possible. Jaskalas/Hayabusa types are essential to that ecosystem, and it's easy to see why they don't care for this to be pointed out.

No. It was reported that there were signs that the code they used were present in the grid. That was being reported to the media and was actual information. As it turned out they determined the code was not actively used to infiltrate the grid. That is not fake. Those things happened.

A child sex ring in the basement of a place with no basement. That's fake. There is no basis for reality. No good faith reporting of actual information.

The fact that you can't see the difference is a sad commentary on your ability to separate fact from fiction.

The Tea Party Right had one consistent theme, being irate. Facts didn't matter.

It's so depressing that this is how the Tea Party will be remembered... The Tea Party was an excellent chance to defeat the two party system and had a valiant theme of monetary responsibility. But both the left and the right felt threatened by it and all of the news channels openly mocked them until the movement disappeared.

The Tea Party was just a Republican branding exercise. It was created by the party in the aftermath of the Bush disaster as the Reps knew their regular brand was in the toilet. The Tea Party was never anything but Republican. To say that the Tea Party threatened the Reps is like saying that Chevrolet threatens GM.

or the fact that the tea party was taken over by a bunch of loons and headed by queen loony herself.

It was a conservative response to Neo-Con big government... It basically split the Republican party in half. That's a pretty big threat.

Can you explain why that 'threat to the party' only appeared once Democrats were in power and then abruptly disappeared when Republicans took over?

The Tea Party was never about reducing federal taxation or spending, they were about opposing Democrats. That's why they disappeared.

Trick question, they all voted for Trump, even #NeverTrump.

Plus all the mouth breathers who were into reality TV and just wanted some cake and circuses.

There were a fair number of Bernie fans who felt a great deal of rage that he was robbed. Many of those Bernie fans ended up not voting.

I doubt it. Putin tried to peddle fake news to the left during the Dem primary, but it wasn't flying, so he moved on to the useful idiot right.

I'd argue it was more in opposition to the huge bail-outs that both administrations chose to push through... I know that's what caught my interest. I'm not sure why they would need another party to oppose Democrats when that's most of what Republicans do.

The numbers don't add up for that claim since Clinton got as many votes as Obama did.

I think the TPM eventually folded in on itself and lost its core principals, but it started out as much more Libertarian than traditional Republican/Conservative. In 2009 there were just as many Tea Partiers denouncing TARP and bank bailouts as could be found in Occupy movements. Establishment Republicans were definitely concerned about losing seats to this new movement so they had no choice but to embrace it. Of course, they had to strip TPM of any anti-corporate agenda and repurpose it as anti-Obama, anti-ACA first.

Not quite. You need to look at percentage of voting age people. That grew by millions from 2008-2016. While the total votes were similar (Obama got 4 million more in 08) the percentage voting was down a healthy amount.

If something is done about Trump it won't be made easier by raising the noise level, it will be by the mechanisms provided in the Constitution.

Raising the noise level is literally one of the mechanisms provided by the constitution, and since a majority of voters finds themselves without majority representation in any branch, it is just about the only mechanism.

It isn't about equivalence because the Right has been screaming about nothing much but rather a change I perceive, which of course you are free to disagree about, which isn't always grounded in reality and I don't mean Trump. I agree he's crap.

I find it hard to agree or disagree with such general statements. In other words, yes, there's a lot of "noise", but I'd argue that it is mostly legitimate. I'd be happy to discuss the noise that you think is unjustified if you can get specific about which issues those are.

I'm comparing 2012 vs 2016. There's no way for the expected voter count to increase such that a sizeable proportion of Sanders people (assuming bit less than half the D count) rage-quit.

The Tea Party was grassroots opposition to Obama. There were almost certainly far more birthers (ie racists) in the crowd than anyone actually against right wing principles. It's hardly some great coincidence that the birther-king heads the party now.

For anyone with doubt about the racism: http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box...party-express-defends-cruz-on-birther-charges. Zero surprise.
