It's just like shaving your nuts. The first time sucks, but after the second time, when it grows back, it's not uncomfortable.

Exactly the same thoughts here...

i use a buzzer on 0 and trim it, so the deodorant sticks to the skin instead of the hairs

Shave for the fresh smell. Or rather, don't shave and you got fvcking stinky sh!t under your armpit.

No. Wouldn't make any difference, cept shaving it would add unnecessary time to my morning routine, yield no benefits, and itch like all hell for the first couple of days.

Real men do not shave their armpits. That's just sick. I suppose you guys shave your legs, too?

Whats next? Shaving the legs and not being a swimmer but because it feels good OR how about we all start shaving our pubes in the shapes of racing stripes or hearts or better yet a arrow pointing down town :p

I use the beard trimmer on the electric shaver once a week. It cuts it really close, like to 1mm, it doesn't have to grow out from the skin so no irritation.

also makes the deodorant work better.

I don't shave but I trim it down. It just feels a hell of a lot nicer then having the hair rub against my body/ arm. I didn't have such a problem when I was younger and had naff all hair :p

Trim. Makes a huge difference in the efficacy of deodorant and BO. It's just basic grooming.

A complete lack of grooming and a disgusting body odor does not make you manly. Physique does. Hit the gym.

meh, trimming excessive hair is one thing. Shaving/buzzing it is another. I understand the reference to the surprise (and agree ;) ), but we're talking about underarms here. Ask ANY women if they want to see a man with bare underarms.

What materialism? This is merely about being considerate to others around you by not smelling like total ass.

A common argument against trimming pits is an insecure "not manly" comment, and I'd wager many of these people have no masculine body definition at all. Being fat/a stick and having body hair does not make one masculine.
