Trim. Makes a huge difference in the efficacy of deodorant and BO. It's just basic grooming.

A complete lack of grooming and a disgusting body odor does not make you manly. Physique does. Hit the gym.

Yes!!! Lets be more materialistic!:thumbsdown:

What materialism? This is merely about being considerate to others around you by not smelling like total ass.

A common argument against trimming pits is an insecure "not manly" comment, and I'd wager many of these people have no masculine body definition at all. Being fat/a stick and having body hair does not make one masculine.

I'm not talking about shaving, I am talking about you saying working out makes a man a man. That's just stupid.

I trim it down a little.

I'm 39. The sad fact is, as you age, body hair becomes thicker and longer. I didn't like looking like I had a small animal trapped under each arm so now I trim it back a little with the beard trimmer on my electric razor. Takes a minute to do and looks much nicer. And since I wear a tanktop in the gym, it's nice to not have all that hair sticking out all over with globs of deodorant in it.

I still have hair there, it just doesn't look like I have Don King in a headlock.

And I don;t care who the fsck you are or how manly you think you are... if it looks like you have Don King in a headlock with snow in his hair, that's just fscking gross.

Well no. I hardly have the time to wash behind my ear in the morning.

I trim, but do not shave.

Like others have said, the odor sticks to the hair increasing your BO. It's not about being a metro, gay, whatever. It's about good hygiene.

Yep, in a year. Funny, I'm constantly mistaken for 28 or so. I must be doing something right. :)

Perhaps you should stop defining physical manhood, and then childishly laughing when someone's opinion differs?

Physique > hair

Same here. Once a month. I don't go for long flowing body hair.

No. Not at all.

Good luck though with your attempt to look like a little boy. That's a weird fetish you have. I have some nice drapes and couch pillows to give to you.

So body hair is the only thing keeping you from looking like a little boy? We're talking about arm pits, not legs or anything...

Personal hygiene is much more important to women than whatever you may think of armpit hair. I trim it down once a month or so (with #1 on the trimmer), so I don't look like a Yeti. Maybe create a poll and find out what women think of it, I am going to bet they prefer a fresh, nicely trimmed armpit to a smelly armpit with long hair.

Legend,

we're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

Dude, there is a difference between shaving your pits, and trimming it just enough so you don't look like you have Buckwheat in a headlock.

Do you agree with that?

Absolutely not, what are ya, a girl?

It's not as if most blokes have a haystack under there anyway, if you did i can see the point in trimming.

Good lord, are you like 16? I wasn't being serious and couldn't care either way. If you really think I would say something like that seriously here I would be flamed. You on the other hand, well I don't know...but you seem awful angry all the time.

I don't shave but I trim it down. It just feels a hell of a lot nicer then having the hair rub against my body/ arm. I didn't have such a problem when I was younger and had naff all hair :p

meh, trimming excessive hair is one thing. Shaving/buzzing it is another. I understand the reference to the surprise (and agree ;) ), but we're talking about underarms here. Ask ANY women if they want to see a man with bare underarms.

Hmmmm...I'll have to ask around the office. My underarms are definately not bare, just trimmed. A girl said she did like guys with shaven LEGS and I'm thinking WTF?! I like my leg hair. No shaven legs for me!

For the guys that 'trim' how low do you guys trim it too? I trim my underarm hair to about 3-4mm or so.

Trim Shave blablabla, no.

I get a hair cut every few months.
I trim by beard & chops every now and again when they annoy me (sideburn hair in my eyes whilst driving with the windows open for example.)

Otherwise, I am a hairy SOB.

I keep it trimmed short. Not that I'm some hairy ape but I think it looks better that way.
