I inherited a metal deli slicer from a friend; I don't use it often, but when I do, it's amazing - meat, cheese, bread, whatever. It's a monster & takes up WAY too much room,
I also have a deli slicer, a full sized one that we keep in the basement on a table since it also takes up way too much room for a kitchen counter. My GF's parents used to run a deli shop and this thing has saved us more money than we can imagine. Buying bulk meats/cheeses and slicing them is a breeze and faster and more accurate than using a knife. I can buy a whole prosciutto and get the razor thin slices that are so hard to do with a knife. I buy entire sausages and slice them and vacuum seal/freeze what I wont eat immediately. They are expensive so its best to find used.
