batali (and flay to a lesser extent) is the only real chef on the network anymore, but his show was canned years ago and reruns have been relegated to mornings/middays. food network unfortunately realized that upscale cuisine doesn't sell ad time - personalities, T&A, and dumbed down food does
You're kidding right? Flay and Batali are both pompous asses, but at least Batali can cook.
Alton shows more of the scientific side of things, which is why he is great. He is not meant to be a great chef per se, but more of an instructor.

Are you serious saying Flay can't cook? Given, you might not like the guy and that is fine, but he can cook. How do you think this guy even made it this far? How do you think he has been the only chef at a couple restaurants that got raved reviews in NYC? The guy has proven himself in the cooking world.
