I accidentally did CTRL+A in Outlook in a folder that has lot of emails. There goes my work computer for the next 30 minutes. What a piece of crap program. Task manager wont even come up either, it's totally hosed up.

I wish windows had a killx command like in Linux.

Finally managed to terminate it. Had to close Excel to get more resources for task manager to come up.

I wish we had a 64-bit OS and more ram.

Outlook is just a tall steaming cup of awful. Probably the worst email program I have ever used. Unfortunately, I'm forced to use it at work.

Aside from how buggy and slow it is, it really is a great program. :whiste:

Obviously you have never encountered Lotus Notes or Groupwise.

Pro tip: Windows has a taskkill command. You can even use it from another computer!

Only problem I have with Outlook at work is that everything older than 30 days gets archived... Not a huge deal when opening, but a total bitch when deleting. I stopped deleting and have everything from even 4 years ago. Boo ya!

Groupwise has the worst archiving system I have ever seen. It has the potential to leave bits and pieces of your archive on any computer you login to and check email on with the regular client. Another stinking steaming foul smelling pile of Novell goodness (sadly yes they still exist).

They should migrate you to Lotus Notes, you'll be begging for Outlook within an hour.....

What's your e-mail program of choice?

I've got Thunderbird at home, and Outlook 2007 at work.

Thunderbird is like Outlook after it's been stripped of numerous features, and saddled with a lousy interface and a screwy search tool. (Though Outlook is saddled with the mess that is Windows 7's Search.)

Thunderbird sure loads faster though.

This. Also, I think something like ctrl + pause break will kill a task of a given M$ program. Maybe that's just Access or something though.

Outlook 2007 was slow.

2013 is lightning quick, and 2010 is typically pretty damn snappy too.

<3 outlook

although I've learned that how well Exchange is implemented determines how much you will enjoy Outlook.
