I consider all of those jigsaw puzzled gerrymandered districts the Repubs managed to arrange into a deeply Red configuration as being districts that are actually autonomous Repub controlled mini-states in their own right.

So I think the 58 states comment that Obama made is an underestimation of epic proportions. ;)

If that is what you truly think then you sir are a moron. ;)

Nah, you still have a firm grip on that title. No need to be so competitive, you, in all honesty have it all sewn up.

Now that's some serious winning! Grats man, grats.

Sort'a tongue in cheek, not really my overall take on what I mentioned, just saw an angle that allowed me to take a dig at how horrendously disfigured those gerrymandered districts are in most Repub controlled state legislatures and how, in effect, this trick often creates an artificially induced situation where a minority of voters hold sway over the majority.

And yes, I do recognize the fact that the Dems also do this, but IMO, not in the magnitude that the Repubs do. It tells me that the Dems have leeway in it's use whereas in many of its districts, it is essential that the Repubs do this in order to win elections.

*Apologies to the OP for straying off topic, just felt I owed PC an explanation for my previous post.

You got one of those too?
Hell yeah I do! The only book he'll read is his book of Mormon and is convinced that everyone else is wrong. Actually both of my parents are convinced that they are right and everyone else is wrong. They call me a liberal because I will not bow down to the republican party line and call anything said into question especially when I start asking about sourcing for the material they quote. My mom got mad at me over my mentioning Stephen Colbert's skits called "brain fight" mocking Alex Jones Infowars shows.

Oh man, good for standing up to that shit. My mom is cool, she's a holy roller but now in her 60s and is way more toned down...just a huge bleeding heart at this point.

Pops has become more strict in his beliefs, more arrogant, but won't engage in conversation and I'm fine with that. He epitomizes my loathe for the boomers, even though I know not all boomers are like that

Colbert is fucking awesome.

I don't want to go too far off topic but the majority of people involved with religion only have religion which is why they behave like they do. Religion has always sought to control people by convincing them that their particular sect is the right way. Once they accomplish this they can manipulate their congregation's beliefs and maintain control over them.

This is why Jesus warned us that there would be many wolves in sheep's clothing and that Satan comes as an angel of light. Actual Christians have always been a tiny minority of the population and most people who claim to be are not and that is just the sad truth. Jesus also said that man cannot serve both God and money which is mr obvious to me when I see so called religious leaders pursuing money and power and teaching the doctrine of prosperity.
