Valentine's Day and Roses is such a racket these days!!! Decided to send my wife a potted orchid instead...this way she'll have something that won't die in 2 weeks and I won't feel like I got ripped off paying jacked up prices for roses just cuz it's Valentine's Day. Boo to whoever came up with Sweetest Day too!!! Ha ha.
If you're going to buy flowers online, the best place imo is GreatFlowers.com. EVERYTIME I've ordered from them, the flowers arrive as absolutely beautiful. They're grower-direct and Fedexed to the recipient in pristine, vibrant condition.
And guess what? They're having a sale and giving a free vase, too.
I'm probably going to regret telling you this, but... if you go to a local Trader Joes, they have 2 dozen roses for $20, half dozen for $7 and they looked better than the ones at the local florist. Buy it now and leave them in vases so you don't have to deal w/ the rush on Wednesday/Thursday.
you know, i want to get sunflowers in lieu of roses, bc they're original, very nice looking and i think a bit more thoughtful than roses, but i'm having a Bitch of a time finding any sort of deal on them
