No no no, not going to deal with a reply that completely distorts what I have said. Instead, let me just reply in kind that you are a rapist sympathizer who does not believe a woman is entitled to shoot someone who is trying to rape her. What a rotten son of a bitch you are. I know what your real bone about guns is.
Lol, sure moonie, wouldn’t want to follow the path where you’re self defense mumbo jumbo would lead, that might be uncomfortable for you.

I mean, after all, rape is the same as throwing popcorn.

man, maybe someday I’ll be as enlightened as you 😏

Give me something besides a joke to reply to.

"cuz in another thread you seemed to defend the numbers placing accidental deaths among minors using guns surpassing motor vehicle accidents (a shift in the last 20 years), and the evidence that gun violence research has been intentionally unfunded as simply part of self defense."

The points you make have nothing to do with self defense and are not related as such by me.

"I mean, if that's the stance, who really cares where the burden of proof is. Popcorn == gun. good shoot. self defense upheld, burden of proof isn't really the problem here. It's the fact that we're willing to withstand lax gun laws and preventable deaths, in the name of "self defense""

If that were the stance you could make an argument on that basis. That is not the stance, sorry, it's just something you throw on the wall hoping something will stick.

"Maybe the answer is more guns, right? I mean, if little timmy was to accidentally pick up a gun....but johnny had one too, it's self defense whoever is left standing, and that's a classy american ending to an otherwise tragic ending! "

No, not maybe yes but definitely no. You are sounding like someone desperately trying to sound relevant and becoming crazed in the process. It's silly to sound absurd yourself to attempt to suggest the one who is absurd is me. I mean, I don't mind, but I think you can do better.

Sure they do, not my fault if they make you uncomfortable. You replied to darkswords man who replied to my link to numbers show gun deaths overtaking vehicle deaths in age group 1-24, this was your reply:

"I mean, if that's the stance, who really cares where the burden of proof is. Popcorn == gun. good shoot. self defense upheld, burden of proof isn't really the problem here. It's the fact that we're willing to withstand lax gun laws and preventable deaths, in the name of "self defense""

Ok, so you argue that it's about self defense, and then where FL rules it self defense, your problem is with the burden of proof. I mean, I'm not entirely sure you know what you think about this, which is fine, but whatever man.

Do you have a problem with FL's ruling, or simply the shift of the burden of proof?

What's the problem here? Do children not have the right to self defense?

I think it's pretty entertaining that you strut around caressing your enlightened ego and then call me crazy. Thanks man, I needed a good chuckle!

Maybe you should head on over to this thread and call some more uncomfortable facts an opinion piece that make liberals culturally ignorant. Maybe toss around a few rapist sympathizer accusations while you're at it.

If the guy had to text someone at that moment why couldn't he have stepped outside the theater and return when finished??

He could have done so. Even though it was during the previews.

Yet shooting him doesn't seem the proper reaction if he fails. I've had candy thrown at me, phones lit up in front of me, and loud talkers around me during movies and I somehow managed to avoid murdering any of them.

Apparently the Florida man syndrome has found it's way to Texas. A Texas man shot someone for pulling into his parking space. Insane.

Dude, moonie is playing 4.7D chess, he is overstating stupid shit from "the other side" in an effort to get an reaction to which he can deliver a *gotcha* line - that will make you see the light. Feel the light. Be the light.
Seriously though, some of this stuff, I know he is not serious, but as I cant figure what kinda game we're playing I try to stay out of it.

Road rage shootings in Texas have been rising significantly. People are already complete assholes on the road here and increasingly ill tempered. I have to remind my husband not to flip anybody off since he has to assume they are armed. Not going to miss living here.

Turning the other cheek means gratitude you only got hit once. A soft answer turns away wrath. The problem that macho cultures have, where competition requires massive ego and things like silly Texas cowboy pride, is that when the cultural significance of such exceptionalism begins to erode away and the mighty are forced to face their insignificance, a lot of violence will be unleashed. It is difficult for those of us so trained to remember to efface ourselves to protect ourselves from rage. He is lucky to have someone who loves him and wants him to stay alive. I wish I could tell him so.

The game we were playing was to mirror the absurdity of his argument back to him but from an opposing point of view which he and a few others having ,also, no self awareness took seriously.
