Flight attendant wearing I Love Jesus

I was flying home from Denver yestarday happy to be on a United 777. I noticed a flight attendant (male) wearing a red "I Love Jesus" ID holder around his neck. Didn't really bother me but I wonder how UAL's management feels about this. I mean if I were working the same flight proudly displaying "Proud to be an Atheist" around my neck how would people feel? I feel compelled to write a letter. Any comments?

who cares...so you are going to make this guys life a potential hell with his employer because he happened to be wearing an I love jesus thingamabob while on the job? I could see if he were a public school teacher, but even then why shouldn't he wear whatever he wants as long as the dress code allows it?....I agree with mil, it isn't like he was preaching the gospel or anything, just wearing something he liked....and I thought I was a dick.

edit: by the way... what is the ONLY decoration (known by me) that can be worn by a person serving military service....

I wonder if anything is even made like that? and also who would ever be proud of "nothing"...I mean really isn't that the basis of Atheism? at least the god fearing people have "something" to be proud of whether or not it is truly something is another matter though......
 
People are offended at the strangest things. Who cares what other people do or wear as long as it has no impact on your life.

It is funny, though, how offended atheists become around anything religious. Makes you wonder. 😉

I don't know about that - the most self righteous zealots I've known have all been atheists. You can see that for yourself on this forum. For my part, I'm a very tolerant agnostic.
 
Not that I agree with it, but here's why it's OK for him to wear it. (not rocket science, either)

He wears "I Love Jesus" ID holder, they get one complaint (you)

He wears "I Love Satan" ID Holder, they get hundreds of complaints



One complaint = no big deal (companies some people like to complain just to be asses)

Hundreds of complaints = big deal (lost profits)

yup, noticed that as well, also saw an interesting piece on the news last night about how christianity is the fastest growing religion in the country (USA) that is....so one can assume that pretty soon there might be alot of pissed off atheists 🙂
 
this is the kind of stuff that makes christians think athiest are really FOR something but AGAINST something. it isn't that they personally don't believe that God exists, but that they have been somehow warped by someone who DID profess God exists and now hold some kind of grudge.

Contact any ACLU member and see if you can get this "crazy" attendant fired and a court ruling
that blocks anyone else in the future from visually insulting you 🙂
 
yeah, people are really nosy these days..

for my summer job, I'm delivering meals for the City of Seattle, which means we drive a City vehicle. During orientation, they told us to really watch how we drove and where we parked, because people DO call in to complain over the smallest stuff.

Apparently one of their staff was making deliveries, and took his lunch break at some fast food restaurant nearby. Someone saw the city vehicle parked at the fast food restaurant and called it in :roll:
Apparently taking your lunch break in a city vehicle constitutes a huge waste of tax dollars to some people...

I agree sward, most if not all of the atheists on this board are very very vocal, but my point was rather isn't the basis of atheism the belief that there is no higher power, no anything at all? so basicially should someone have a pin or whatever that says "proud to be an atheist" aren't they then professing that they are proud that they believe there is nothing?

the most non-vocal group I have ever been around are US Roman catholics...generally they have nothing to say 🙂
