Flashback! CES 1979

Lol, yeah. It was a week ban, then I went back in like a couple weeks and was perm 🙁.

Good thing I don't post there lol. Like two years ago was the last time I posted, except for my adblock thing that lead to me ban.

I have ATOT so it's all good 😀

Rubycon, I am your age. We had freakin CABLE TV!! back then, and it was tits. Our 19" color tv seemed like we were dancing on the edge of the future!

In the very early 80's, I bought a microwave for my folks on credit. It was practically the size of a refrigerator and my mom was pissed that I wasted my money on such a useless piece of technology.

Not too long after that, my father gave me his credit card and asked me to buy a VCR for a present to my mother. It was like $400! Again, my mother complained that it was a waste of money for such a useless piece of technology.

Good times. Of course, she recanted her objections, but it took quite a while. The VCR & microwave both lasted about a dozen years or so.

lol i wonder if they realized that kinda drawn over body cartoon thing mostly brings up the safe for work porn internet meme.

"Nothing in sunny California beats watching the local news live from Chicago."

FUCKING AWESOME! Let's watch more local news stations tonight! YEAH!!!!!

Cyanide tablet and gasoline martini, anyone?

Even WOW addicts have better things to do than that.
I think.

It's amazing how far technology has come, there's no way they could have predicted what we have now back then. Hell, 20 years ago I'd call you crazy if you told me half of the tech we have now.

Oh...also laughed at how he stuck in "Porno costs more" in there.

LOL @ how slow the cartoons ran, not a lot of CPU cycles available back then. In 1979 I worked at one of the first video rental places in this area. Customers would pay a flat fee of $200/year and were allowed to take any one movie they wanted, porn was hugely popular and several customers complained about how all the "good" films were rarely available..

Stupid 1979, why would you pay 75bucks for sound of music????

1) That movie sucked
2) Why pay that much when you could download it!

stupid 1979.

Isn't it interesting that that business of piracy, for the most part, no longer exists? If the FBI followed the same standards they did yesterday, piracy today would go almost completely unpunished as dollars almost never change hands.
