Looking at your original pictures I'd say the house preceded the use of Tyvek. Tyvek is a moisture resistor, but not a vapor barrier. It protects the sheathing and studs from rot.

EDIT: what is the age of the house? Vapor barriers weren't too common not all that long ago either.

Not sure exactly, but it's over 50 years.
