Did you try Driver Cleaner 2 from here? .Btw I would run the cab cleaner(in tools part of driver cleaner) first in safe mode then run driver cleaner after, full instructions in the readme file of DC2.

You may have an IRQ problem. My 9600 had a conflict with my Audigy 2 before I switched PCI slots. The Audigy 2 was fine with my Geforce 3.

thanks for the advise. I'll try wiping out the driver files first. I think the Omega set might have made some rather stubborn file somewhere. As for IRQ conflict.. it would also prevent me from loading the card using 3.2.

Check your Hardware configuration to see if the 7500 is still listed. If it is, uninstall drivers/Control Panel, the 7500 and 9600, then restart. Re-install drivers/control panel after Windows finds the 9600. Don't know if that's your problem or not, I had that happen to me though when I recently upgraded from a 8500LE to 9600Pro.

okay.. I've tried the driver cleaner, but it still refused to be recognized, unless I use the stock Cat 3.2 driver.

Maybe.........you didn't install both control panel & matching driver. Control panels are matched to their own driver. just a suggestion.
