Awesome video card basically a 9600pro, almost XT depending on if you believe some less reputable reviwers, but I saw a post here for peeps getting a GF4 4200 for $89, this is a way better deal than that. Keep in mind all the new "value" cards (ATI Radeon 700pro/xt, and the nVidia 6600GT) are coming out now though so card prices will probably fall soon.

The cpu on this only runs at 250MHz. I got one of THESE for $69, which I think is better since the cpu is clocked at 325MHz. No noisy fan either. The 500MHz XT version is available HERE for $103, which I bet is probably twiced as fast as a 9600 at 250MHz.

Tell me, has ANYONE had an ATI card with a fan that DIDN'T crap out within 6 months?

Zim: Is that one 256-bit memory or 128-bit?

The one in the original post is a 128-bit memory card, not 256-bit.... Aren't there some 9600's with 256-bit memory? Or am I thinking of Sapphires 9800 128-bit versus 256-bit episode.

Currenly, I have four ATI cards including '98 play, 7200, 8500, 9700 Pro that didn't crap out so far. (from 16 months up to 5 years old and all still runing strong)

And on the other side, the fan on my Nvidia GF3 crapped out. I think it's a universal problem with these graphic card fans.

Hey, did you blow a little compressed air into the fan from time to time, to clear out the built up dust?? LOL J/K!! ;)

I've had ATI cards for about 3 years now, with no fan problems. If it's something that truly bothers you, consider an aftermarket cooler. :)

I also just placed an order for this. Thank you for the link and either deal looks like a winner.

The fan on my Geforce 3 locked up (the card was nicely overclocked past TI500 at the time)

Got so hot it fried it self. :(
