1 - Your like Colin Powell in that you wouldn't have voted for McCain anyways. You can consider your self one of the millions who Obama suckered/conned/mesmerized into believing he was some post-partisan moderate.
2 - What would you do if you had accumulated $500k in legal bills because under Alaska state law, any ethics complaints to the executive branch members are considered "personal". And anyone can file a complaint. Add in members of her admin were facing similar issues.
3 - Your reference to tea party members being lunatics shows just how little you know. There are more tea party supporters/sympathizers in this country then there are members of the Dem or Rep parties.
4 - Dumb how? Because many statements being attributed to her actually didn't come from her (think seeing russia from her house)? Sounds like your the dumb one for believing them. How about backing up this.
5 - This is one place you are almost correct. Nixon and HRC were very skilled political operatives. They both are very ruthless and maintained enemies lists. But Palin did beat a sitting governor and went up against the Rep party machine to do it. She does have some instincts. We just don't know how good they are (and as has been documented, she had no control over how the McCain campaign handled her).
1. If you want a rebuttal to that read the other post I made.
2. It still comes down to if you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen. Quitting while under ethics investigations, no matter how partisan or lacking of substance only makes it look like she had something to hide.
3.While there are some rather nutty tea party members, this was pointed directly at the "Tea Party" supported candidates that won their primaries. Specifically O'Donnell, Angle and Paladino. People like them DO NOT belong on a national stage and do not represent the thoughts and will of the people.
4.Easiest examples are her interview with Katie Couric and her debate with then Senator Biden. She came off as vapid and clueless, and her answers lacked any substance. Like I said, folksy charm and partisan outrage will carry you so far without knowledge on how to use them.
5. Reagan actually was similar to Palin in that he could talk to the "everyman" and not have them feel like he was talking down to them. A skill Obama seems to lack. Reagan also had brains behind the charm to make things work and plenty of smart people to back him up.
You and your love of "intelligence!" What is intelligence in this case?
Degrees, experience in reading a teleprompter?
Sure, we want national leaders with some sense. But does a law degree or a professorship or even thirty years in Washington as a legislator provide some kind of real advantage?
Has his native "intelligence" helped Obama face other national leaders around the world? They think he is a dipshit, barely worth paying attention to.
I'd rather have a pragmatist with a vision of a strong America in office than an ideologue. If I have to have an ideologue in office I'd rather have a Palin than an Obama.
The only thing Palin knows how to deliver is babies... under bizarre and shady circumstances.
Bahahaha... the left/progressives want Sarah to win the nomination for Republican Presidential candidate. Nothing would be more than a sure re-election of Obama and ensure the self-destruction of the GOP.I like Palin. I like the fear she inspires in the left, I like that all of our progressive clear thinking friends can come up with nothing better than "I hate that stupid bitch", I like the shit storm that follows mention of her name.
Keep up the good work Sara.
This dyed in the wool, highly experienced Democrat operative said that no matter what happens in the upcoming election, and she does recognize that the Republicans will take over the Congress, Sarah Palin is likely going to be elected President in 2012.
She held that the country has now been exposed to the soul of the Democrat agenda and has rejected it.
She doesn't believe that this White House has the finesse to pivot.
She believes that the Democrats on the whole still do not understand the mood of the country and that they are blinded by partisanship.
She also believes that America has not seen a personality like Palin since Reagan and that Palin is the perfect counterpoint to the perceived hollowness of Obama.
She said that she will wake up tomorrow and continue the good fight. But she believes she is now on the wrong side of history.
If Sharron Angle is your idea of a sane politician, I'd hate to see what you consider extreme. The Nevada State Assembly even had a specific term for "consensus" votes: "forty-one to Angle".3. There are nuts on both sides. Angle isn't a nut, O'Donnel is sorta a nut and Palidino is an entertaining nut. But there are plenty of nuts on the left wing. Alan Grayson, Denise Kucinich, RFK Jr, etc.
Kinsley Gaffe: when a politician tells the truth...4. Shes a rhodes scholar compared to Joe Biden. The man who has been on the wrong side of every military action going back to defunding the Republic of South Vietnam in 1973. Theres a reason why Bidenesque has become a verb referring to a gaffe of Biden proportions.
Me? I'm considering the possibilities of a Palin/Christie ticket rocking my world.
I have to say I agree with you. That Palin holds any power what so ever has more to do with stupid people than her actual potential.
I have to say I agree with you.
Unfortunately, that article is probably right.
And she's definitely not an extreme--neocons are moderates; after all, they trace a lot of their ideas back to FDR, while real Republicans trace their ideology back to Thomas Jefferson, Lindbergh/Robert A Taft/the Old Right, one of FDR's greatest opponents. Dr. Paul is the one who is extreme.
Palin's a pro-war Israel-firster, a member of the moderate NRA, not hostile enough to the welfare state, and needs to be stopped before she beats Dr. Paul to the nomination.
Well, I think he has a chance, considering that none of the others will be true conservatives.LOL, do you really think that Ron Paul would win the republican nomination? Really, get a fucking clue. Paul is a fucking moron who is even more myopic than Palin and would push this country back into the 19th century. Yet, he still won't give up Medicare/aid checks.
Well, I think he has a chance, considering that none of the others will be true conservatives.
Palin sucks because cutting the biggest bankrupters (DoD, Medicare, SS) is off limits to her.
She'd never submit a balanced budget to Congress.
And I don't get how you don't see that we've never had laissez-faire in this country. Never anywhere close.
I am, but I like to pretend most people aren't that stupid.Seriously, I'm a fan of RP, but it's quite evident he could never win the GOP nomination. You're fooling yourself. America isn't ready for Paul, much less the GOP.
Great article. I'll keep it close at hand as it will inevitably come in handy.
I am, but I like to pretend most people aren't that stupid.
No one in this world has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby.I am, but I like to pretend most people aren't that stupid.
Seriously, I'm a fan of RP, but it's quite evident he could never win the GOP nomination. You're fooling yourself. America isn't ready for Paul, much less the GOP.
Hopefully America will never be "ready" for Paul. Being "ready" would entail a complete breakdown in society and losing our entire economy. One thing I am sure an anarchist would love.
The popularity of Palin proves the majority of the GOP's constituents have learned nothing from the party's mistakes. Talk about short-term memory.
